Stayed here on the 19th April 2014 for a birthday night away, we took our dog and had a room outside the main building with a shared outside courtyard/garden (shared only with one other room) this was an added bonus as dog owners and no charge for our dog. As mentioned by many the food staff and rooms are all...

Stayed for a couple of nights, room was tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. Staff were excellent and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome and well looked after. The guests lounge and library area were comfortable and welcoming. The food was excellent and worthy of recognition by the critics, each course was cleverly constructed with variations in taste,...

We visited a week ago to dine with friends who were staying at the hotel. The meal began with a delicious soup before moving on to the starter, followed by sorbet. Next was main course and finally devine pudding. Included in the price was tea/coffee and chocolates filled with Alnwick rum. Each course was beautifully presented and the staff were...

An amazing stay, thank you to all the staff, especially the chefs for adding a few more inches to my waistline. What a truly individual hotel, a collection of furniture, photographs that will blow your mind, & a garden with views to die for. Our bedroom was beautiful, again with views of the surrounding area. The setting of the restaurant,...

We've eaten twice here and were really impressed. The menu is really imaginative and has a huge variety of starters, mains and desserts. Its a set price with appetite refreshers and soup and coffee and pre dinner nibbles served in the lounge beforehand. So for around £40 you get around a 6 course meal. The service is attentive and friendly...

We went for the winter special offer of dinner, bed and breakfast which made it a reasonably priced weekend. Fantastic meal and lovely room and bathroom. All the rooms are different and it doesn't feel like a hotel. Will be going back

We stayed in December, room was lovely, Duchess, large comfortable bed and very quiet. Food was a 5 course feast and well worth the £42 per head, huge wine list, reasonably priced, and breakfast was served using local produce. They welcome dogs in some of their rooms too. Recommended

Just spent a fantastic weekend here meeting up with old friends. The hotel was perfect, full of character and in such a lovely spot. The bedroom was spotless, comfortable and quiet! The food was one of the best meals we've had in a long time. Thank you for a great weekend.

We stayed for 4 nights and the room was clean warm and cosy. The hotel is a country house with splendid decor and lots of family pictures. The food is exceptional with every course being if a very high standard. I have ate at many quality restaurants but this is as good as any we have been to. The staff...
