Stayed at the Mizen Head in the newly built/refurbed annex. Excellent with the most comfortable bed we have ever stayed in. Dined in the Restaurant which was really nice and the food was excellent. We dined in there for breakfast and there were left over spilt vegetables on the floor obviously from the night before. When we stayed I think...

We first visited The Mizen late 2011 ( newly taken over by Alex) and had a first class meal. Over the years we've visited and eaten on several occasions, but never stayed until this week. The bedroom, breakfast, staff and meals were all excellent, nothing could be faulted! However we were very sad to hear the devastating news about Alex...

After some initial confusion over our family booking, the matradee managed to squeeze us after making it clear she would need the table back by 8.15pm. Not a great start, especially considering this was a clerical error on their behalf and not ours. Anyway, I was keen to put that behind us and was looking forward to what the menu...

First came to the Mizen Head a few years back and loved it, returned for lunch again today and it was every bit as good as we remembered...if anything it's got even better. Beautiful, light and modern dining room with lovely country views, fantastic food and a lovely friendly team. We had Moules and Scallops to start, followed by Lemon...

Visited for a lunchtime celebration dinner with a party of about 50 for Sunday Lunch. Serving this many people was a challenge for the restaurant staff which they coped with admirably. The food could have been hotter but given the circumstances, and it was delicious. I had a bowl of plump sweet mussels for starters and all the necessary paraphernalia...

My wife and I made the 100+ miles round trip yesterday evening, a Saturday, to try this restaurant for the first time. That isn't as 'Ranulph Fiennes' as it sounds as we take a drive up the coast fairly frequently and sample as many of the better places to eat as we can so we've passed The Mizen Head loads...

We stayed two nights Monday and Tuesday in March and it was getting busy which shows you how popular this is. The rooms in the new annex are large and clean could be better laid out I think - room 7 was billed as a Suite but it wasn't really, it could have been; they just needed to alter the...

The food and restaurant staff made this place. Dinner was delicious and perfectly cooked. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was tasty. The location of Mizen Head is perfect and easy walk to the beach and castle plus it has a car park. The bedrooms (well the one we were in) need a bit of tlc. Whilst spacious and comfortable,...

Had a lovely 3 night stay here. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. There was also a really comfy sofa, desk and wardrobe with drawers. The room was bright, airy and clean with lovely views. The bathroom was clean and tidy with powerful shower though no bath. Service was friendly and welcoming throughout both in the hotel...
