We were traveling back from Edinburgh airport and were pretty hungry after a long flight. We googled places to eat and this was on the way so stopped. This was at 22:30. We were surprised to find somewhere so comfortable, welcoming, good value and good food at that time of night. It's open 24 hours and will definitely plan to...

The staff member was welcoming upon our arrival, our room had a double bed which was comfortable and an en-suite which could do with updating, the room got a bit cold but there was a spare blanket and a small electric wall heater which was fine. Our room was unbelievably quiet and you wouldn't think it was situated on the...

We stayed at Purdy Lodge during the Easter weekend. We had a double room with ensuite bathroom. The bed was comfortable andwehada nice view on the country side andBamburgh castle. despite the lodge being located on the A1, the room was very quiet. The only down point was that the shower was a bit out dated and it was difficult...

Advantages and disadvantages to this place. It's in a great location, we were visiting Seahouses and Bamburgh and was a short drive to both! The hotel itself is pleasant the room was nice but cold and mostly clean except a few hairs in the bathroom. Good view from the window too! Was worried about being so close to the busy...

Me and my partner wanted to stay in Alnwick for a night but hotels in the centre were very expensive so stayed here for £72 a night which I thought was reasonable. 10 minute drive into Alnwick or 20 mins to the coast. Was worried that there'd be a lot of noise with it being by the side of a...

Very basic and over priced but served our requirements for the one night. Food in main restaurant very nice, breakfast was good although waitress needs to learn people skills. The other staff were brilliant. 24 hour cafe next door was handy.

As the title suggests, this hotel doesn't deserve the negative comments I've seen on here before. Purdue Lodge doesn't pretend to be more than what it is - a place to stay on the A1. Rooms are clean, if basic, food is good and staff are friendly. Not sure what more can be expected.

Had booked for one night stay 23rd of February 2 rooms as my daughter and granddaughters were with me. We chose Purdy Lodge because it was pet friendly.Pet owners beware!.On arrival we were informed that the dog was not allowed in any of the bar or restaurant areas and only allowed in the rooms if accompanied. We booked a family room for two nights. When we arrived we were pleased that everything looked presentable, the lady who checked us in was pleasant and helpful. Initially our room looked nice, we were surprised that you couldn't hear any of the traffic from the carriageway outside. There is a nice view looking towards Bamburgh castle and we could...
