I'm reminded of the Danish concept of 'hygge' the cozy comfort taking pleasure from the presence of soothing things. We stayed in #4 which is the essence of hyggelich where every detail is designed to help the traveller unwind. Arriving on an icy afternoon we received a warm welcome and offer of fresh tea, coffee or a glass of wine...

We booked a last minute break, and this boutique hotel came with good reviews. First time in a boutique hotel but won't be the last. The room was so interesting and comfortable. The service was excellent. Breakfast served in your room was delicious. Such a lovely room in a beautiful listed building. Location couldn't have been better with excellent restaurants...

Our attic room was delightful, beautifully and tastefully decorated, with masses of space, a huge bathroom including free standing bath and separate large shower. Plenty of storage space and a very comfortable bed. Nice quality fittings, fluffy towels and good quality tea and coffee on offer. Not easy to find, though, as there is no front entrance, and no sign...

Easy booking, pleasing welcome. Large room, light and bright with bags of style and comfort. Super comfortable bed. All linen, towels, robes etc good quality. Enjoyed the calm ambience of the room and it would be difficult to find a fault. Parking not provided but not a problem. Very adequate breakfast at the yha yards away.

This totally fab accommodation is set in a quiet lane and yet is centrally located for all that Berwick has to offer. The owner was delightfully friendly and welcoming - despite her broken leg! The room we had was very spacious, with a comfy sofa and big TV as well as a good sized and very comfortable bed. The furnishings...

No where to park, and the owner was spiteful and mean. the room was badly arranged and the atmosphere was so tense and unwelcoming it was untrue. It is also in the heart of an obvious drinking area at night which kept us awake half the night with party goers. .

Stayed just one night at The Captain's Quarters. We were met by a very nice lady, Melanie, who explained where everything was etc. The room was quite large, had a single bed in it as well as the double - lots of space. Lots of quirky bits and pieces in the room, very attractive. Parking is nearby - we had...

Stayed in room 5, lovely girl greeted us and showed us to to our room. The room was fabulous with amazing old photos and lovely decor (please tell me where you got the cushion on the window seat with sequin stag head, I was tempted to offer you money for it I loved it so much!) the fireplace was astounding!...

Reviews are very important especially for us seasoned travellers that like our luxury. That's why when we see highly rated places we think ooh that would be nice. Now we saw this and thought OOH! A bit on the expensive side but if it is as good as it seems then why not. On arrival a slightly different story. You...

Stayed here in July for a night. First impressions were good, room was lovely, very spacious, a bunk bed for the kids, quirky interior, everything we wanted really. We settled in and unfortunately my young daughter managed to drop her glass in the sink, and totally cracked it. We fessed up to the owner and actually she was very understanding...
