Had lunch here today with a friend. This was our first visit but definitely won't be our last. Warm and welcoming hotel. We sat in the residents library by the fire with our drinks whilst waiting for our lunch. Lovely menu, very reasonable. The food was delicious, the staff friendly. Can't wait to visit again. This will be on our...

Quality accommodation in a great environment. Excellent Restaurant and service that is second to none. Forget the chains go for the independent option. Nothing requested was too much trouble for any of the staff from Management down

We arrived after 2 pm and so only soup and sandwiches were offered, which was fine. However it took ages to order, nearly 40 minutes to arrive and portions were small. Soup was excellent but we had to ask for more bread. The sandwich was laughable - small and unattractive. Then the bill was incorrect. Overall, disappointing.

5 of us met at this excellent hotel with pub. My first time there. (Have been through the village quite often on the bus.) Very good food; 3 also had wine and beer. Hope to return next year for a meal with my brother.

The Collingwood has changed hands, but the welcome is just as warm, the service is still good and the environment is spot on for a country sports break. Sixth year on the trot we've used the Collingwood as a base for our trip to Northumberland and its become a firm favourite. Don't expect 5 star service or Michelin standard food,...

Well - this is one of those places that I always call at on my way to Scotland so I might have written about it previously - particularly as I had a new cardigan/jacket, that I stupidly left on the back of a chair in the sitting room, and didn`t realise it for a couple of hours, - too late,...

My wife and I called on Saturday lunchtime as we had eaten here previously. Unfortunately the experience was not up to the last visit. The service was appallingly slow , even to get a drink. The food was acceptable but at £21.00 for a sirloin steak it should have been exceptional. The worst thing though was being seated by the...
