Lovely place staff very friendly and prices reasonable. Sunday lunch is on a carvery basis and the normal menu is on too worth a try if your passing . Dogs are allowed in the bar area very family friendly.
Visited today on the way back to Edinburgh and had an excellent lunch in the bar area. They offer a bar menu and a specials menu, and both have plenty of choice and can suit any budget.

We booked the night here as we had friends staying in the caravan park next to here. The pub looks lovely on the outside and has good reviews for food and for that reason we thought the rooms would be just as good......well they weren't!...More
Great traditional pub! Efficient & quick service, good homemade food and wide choice of beers and wine. Pleasant interior and the staff was very friendly. I was very impressed on the whole and I will certainly return when I’m in the north east again.
Stopped on a Sunday evening for something to eat. They were still running the carvery from lunch which was a reasonable price and other than the meat you could pile your plate with as much food as you liked. The beef appeared over cooked but...More
Good place to be for meals, they do take dogs, recommend the Shoulder of Mutton to all. Splendid place to stay meals are great. You can take your dog into the bar and eat there but not in the restaurant.
