Beautiful accommodation where nothing was too much trouble. Within easy travelling distance for visits to Holy Island, Balborough Castle and Hadrians Wall. We're glad we chose the suite as this was by far the best room with a super king size bed.

I am amazed at the other relatively positive reviews for this hotel. Unfortunately we felt that the staff on our arrival were not particularly friendly and then the food was absolutely atrocious. Our children did not touch their meals- I couldn't even cut the pizza into pieces it was so hard. The chips looked like they had been hanging around...

We popped in 3 times for meals whilst in the area. Everywhere is clean and tidy. Lovely staff. The food is a great price with a wide choice and large portions. Nice sized beer garden and good for children. Would deffo return.

On a visit to Wooler we stopped off at the Tankerville for food in the bar. The staff were all extremely friendly. We were a party of four, we all had starters, the Trio of Puddings was delicious, there were no complaints on any of the mains or desserts, the only plate that wasn't left clean was my husbands sticky...

This was a last minute booking but nevertheless it was a great 1night stay. Upon arrival the barman was extremely helpful, we were shown where our room was and agreed it could do with a little sprucing up, the bed was very comfortable, so much so we had a snooze there after lunch!!!We had a bit of lunch in the...

13 of us stayed just the one night for a change of scenery from home. We were supposed to have the garden house but there was a "mix up" in the booking. So instead we were given a family room and use of the lounge. On check in we discussed the mix up with the male receptionist, we were given...

This Hotel is extremely dated and over priced, and in need of a refurb the food is average. We had the family room which was a good size but old and tired, the bar and restaurant is a real mismatch of styles.

Room was very clean, but not much attention to detail - fusty smell, bin broken, no tooth mugs. Food was well below pub average - we'd maybe stay here again, they have a lovely garden - but we'd definitely eat elsewhere.
