Visited a couple of weeks ago for Sunday Lunch. Only one other table in use at 1pm, should have walked then. There was only one meat available which was beef. After a short wait of about 20 mins our food arrived. My beef was very tough and most of it got left, husbands was ok. Roast potatoes and yorkshires soggy... More

We were staying just outside the small town and saw this pub on passing as it looked oldie worldie. We called in for a drink and the deco inside matched the outside. Very homely atmosphere with a lovely coal fire. Staff were friendly.

The Talbot is such an exciting building it should be fabulous. But it needs a lot of love (and money) spending on it before I would consider taking Mrs T with me there. TV didn't work and nobody fixed it for the following day. Tried to draw curtain and pole came of in my hand. In fact no one entered... More

We visited here for lunch having had a very good lunch here some months ago. We only wanted a snack, a baguette or something similar but were surprised to find that the only sandwiches/baguettes available were meat. My wife is a vegetarian so we asked if they could make a cheese or tuna sandwich. The lady behind the bar checked... More

Booked 2 night stay with Groupon way back in May 2016 thinking we had a good offer for the Bank Holiday in August ,choosing to ignore bad reviews. Pleasant lady took the booking and confirmed the details via email. Two weeks ago we discovered a couple of calls from an unrecognised numbers but no messages left and by off chance... More

Appalling! As soon as we arrived, payment was demanded, which isn't usual business practice. The room we stayed in was filthy with bedding and towels which had seen better days and smelt musty due to the room being vacant for months I would imagine!! ( No guests occupying ) We had to send both starters and main courses back twice... More

Groupon 2 night stay with breakfasts, room 1 with a four poster bed. No problems with the room, although more pedantic guests may have some issues with it. My wife and I are easily pleased and found it to be more than sufficient. The staff were very friendly (Abi couldn't do enough to help) and although the room we stayed... More

When challenged about room standards the manageress said it was fine in her opinion. On each challenge she replied with a curt "that's in your opinion"'. When asked "Don't you think customer care is important" she replied "No, not really" Although we had paid in advance for 3 nights, we didn't stay - the room and the manageress were far... More
