We arrived at this beautiful farmhouse to a lovely, warm welcome from the owners Liz and Simon, we were made to feel 'at home' straight away and nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious, Liz and Simon easily catered for the vegetarians and the children in our group with no trouble at all and all the rooms were stunning,...

Liz and Simon gave such a warm welcome and were very hospitable throughout our stay. The accomodation is of a very high standard and is located in a peaceful location overlooking Tal y Llyn lake. The breakfasts and evening meal were second to none. Liz also made us a delicious picnic for our walk up Cader Idris, couldn't have asked...

The location is idyllic. Soothingly peaceful amongst the hills, one being Cadair Idris. Host and hostess welcoming and friendly, room very comfortable, particularly spacious and comes with every hot drink you can think of plus delicious home-made cookies. Central heating good too. Breakfast unsurpassable! A wide choice of delicious offerings including the local butcher's fry-up or some healthier alternatives. A...

Dolffanog Fach was AMAZING. Simon and Liz, the owners, are just the loveliest, down to earth people, ready to serve and help their guests as much as possible so that their stay is ideal. Hi Stephanie-ann, Thank you for such a lovely review. It was an absolute pleasure to host you and Jamie and I hope that you will visit again when you venture back over the sea! I hope you had a good remainder of your trip and that the Canadian weather is kinder to you now than when you left! Liz

A true get away from the big city! Very friendly people, and safe location. Rooms are clean and cheerful, with a good option of DVD's. A lot of things todo with the sea side also only 15 minutes away by car and snowdon just over an hour of your speedy. (Car recommended). Great hiking locations nearby. Petrol heads will love...

I would not even know where to start to describe our experience at Dolffanog Fach, We came on Friday night and it was already dark outside so could not see much but when we woke up Saturday our breath was taken away by the views from the back garden. It was so peaceful and idyllic as the weather was perfect....

We had a lovely night here. The new owners were very welcoming, breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and the rooms were spotless and beautiful (and had homemade cookies and Welsh cakes). The Carroll room has a fantastic view towards Cadair Idris. Our children wanted to stay forever! The woodburner in the lounge was laid ready for us, we felt so...

Spotlessly clean. Plenty to choose from for breakfast, generous portions, good food. We were there on the two nights dinner is not available so cannot comment on evening menu. Tea making facilities and two jars of excellent biscuits in the bedroom. Based ten minutes walk from Cadair Idris (ideal) but had to drive out for evening meal as nowhere within...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Simon and Liz would love to welcome you to Dolffanog Fach. Our aim is to provide the warm and friendly welcome of a traditional B&B with the standards and special touches you would expect from a boutique hotel. Unlike most B&Bs we do not "live in", we have a little cottage just next door so you don't need to feel as though you are staying in someone's home. We have 4 lovely double bedrooms, a sitting room with a log fire and a beautiful dining room with a slate floor and wood burning stove. Our dining room is big enough to accommodate individual tables for each guests but small enough to be cosy and allow you to chat to other guests if you wish. We have a large garden that you are welcome to explore - including a full vegetable garden! We also have a Finnish Sauna which is just perfect after a long day's hike or cycle in our astonishingly beautiful surroundings. If you are a walker or mountain biker then we can offer you our "Boots & Bikes" Room. Secure storage for your bikes, boots, helmets and clothes and we can also offer laundry facilities. Our breakfasts are designed to really set you up for the day and also offer plenty of variety if you are staying for more than a few days. You could stay for a week and have a different breakfast every day! We really want to offer our guests value for money and put a lot of effort into the little things, the biscuits in the rooms are homemade and freshly baked, the milk is fresh and the coffee is ground and there are lots of other little touches that guests always comment on and say how much they make a difference. Children of any age are more than welcome and we also welcome dogs and they are allowed in the rooms and sitting room, we don't permit them in the dining room but you are welcome to leave them in the bedrooms while you eat. We hope you'll come and stay with us, we can promise you a friendly welcome, lovely rooms, delicious food, glorious surroundings and a truly relaxing stay. ... more   less
