Stayed for two nights this time in Room 8 which has its own entrance on the ground floor. This was perfect with easy access from the car park and perfect for not having to take the dog through the hotel each time she needed to go out. As always Carol and Julie were the perfect hosts; wonderful food (breakfast sausage...

This was our second visit and we were treated to the honeymoon suite, even with our nine month old Boxer pup! The room was very spacious, featuring a four poster bed and vintage roll top bath. After a great night's sleep we ate a hearty breakfast before exploring the surrounding hills. There are walks to hand at every turn and...

We stayed one night on our way to a wedding but wished we had stayed two nights instead. We were greeted with coffee and home made cake, after our long drive it was very much appreciated. That evening we ate in the restaurant the meal was very nice, cooked perfectly and served with a smile. The bed was soft and...

I stayed here for 1 night and wished I'd been staying longer. The staff are friendly the rooms first class - all the comforts of home. Breakfast was cooked to order and very tasty. Apparently the building dates back to 1650's, but is now fitted with all mod cons.

My 98 year old father wanted a little adventure - he likes walking. So, having been to the Castle of Comfort for the most delicious strawberry tea, I had earmarked it for future reference. Just the place, with a ground floor room en suite for my father and an upstairs, very comfortable, room for me. We were made most welcome...

We stayed here for two nights as part of a large friends and family group. When we arrived after a long drive it was a pleasure to sit down and be offered tea/coffee and cake in the cosy bar/lounge whilst waiting for the rest of the group to arrive. We were in the Italian Suite which comprised a large room...

We had a warm welcome here following a very last minute booking and had such a cosy, comfortable double room, with a fabulous shower/wet room, set round the back, well out of earshot of the A39. We had to eat out as the restaurant was booked out for a private party (a shame, as the food smelled fantastic!) but had...

My review is very positive however I did feel that some of the reviews I had read on here set me up for something I didn't feel I recieved. Arrival was easy. Greeted in reception, plenty of parking. Showed to our rooms. We had two rooms a double and a twin. Our room was upstairs at the back, very warm,...

I turned up late on a Sunday evening to make an early start the next day. Staff were so concerned that I had skipped dinner that they offered me a glass of milk. Breakfast is fantastic as well. Rooms vary but mostly very good quality - you will get a good night's sleep
