owing to very heavy traffic on our way we rang our hosts to make them aware that we may not arrive before the latest check in time of 8 o'clock. Nick could not have been more helpful and even advised that we may want to eat prior to arriving as pubs & restaurants locally stop serving food a 9pm. On...

We stayed here for a couple of nights for the August Bank Holiday, the owners were very friendly and helpful and made us very welcome. Unfortunately, we were unable to make breakfast at 8am because we were there for a rest as we both have demanding jobs so we were looking forward to a lay-in and not clock watching so...

Thank you for your review of your recent stay with us and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We just wanted to mention that each room is equipped with a fan heater, which also blows cool air if needed. This is kept in the wardrobe. Also, that we do serve breakfast up to 9.00 am, but if guests...

We had a very warm welcome on arrival from our hosts Maggie and Nick, along with a very comprehensive introduction to the area and a most welcome complimentary tea and homemade cakes in the front garden. (We also chose to try a homemade cream tea on another occasion) Overstream is well positioned in Porlock being very central and there are...

We stopped by to have a cream tea. Amazing scones, nice tea and my son loved his cheese on toast. Nice garden to relax in and friendly service. Would go again. Note: They charge 50 pence for card payments under 10 pound.

We stayed at Overstream for five nights and were sad to leave. Maggie gave us a wonderful warm welcome and once we settled in offered us tea and home made cake. Very yummy. My partner says her tiffin cake was the best she had ever had. The room was very clean and comfortable. Nic welcomed us every morning at breakfast...

This is a small hotel in bustling Porlock, which is a great base for exploring Exmoor and the North Coast of Somerset and Devon. The surrounding countryside is spectacular but what really sets the place apart is the kind and welcoming hosts, for whom nothing is too much trouble. Tea and cake on arrival and excellent freshly cooked breakfasts.

Our intention was to say one night however we loved it so much we stayed an extra two nights and would have stayed longer if they were not fully booked. Maggie and Nick were excellent hosts and Maggie's home made scones are the best in Exmoor ... And we should know as we tried a few. The accommodation is to...

We stayed here for one night. We had a very nice a spacious room at the corner of the house in the front. It had all the amenities we needed. It is not all new, but everything works and it was very clean. The owners are very friendly people and the breakfast was good. We would certainly recommend this guesthouse...
