Situated about as centrally in Porlock as you can hope to be, The Castle is an honest establishment with salt of the Earth staff. There's nothing pretentious about this inn. They offer a good room at a very fair price and that's what you get. The staff serve you with cheerful bonhomie. Porlock itself is about as picturesque a town...

What an amazing stay we had, we were welcomed by very attentive staff who were happy to accommodate my dairy allergy at late notice. The room was stunning, large, clean and with everything we could possibly need. We ate in the restaurant for our evening meal which was beautiful and fresh and breakfast was just as good. We can't wait...

The castle is one of the most friendly pubs in the area. the food is plentiful and tasty but not gourmet, and you will find nowhere to beat then on price. The bars are comfortable with with a mixture of soft and hard seating and tables all adding up to a comfortable ambience. They welcome dogs and the coffee is...

Very comfortable with smattering of sofas or tables if you prefer. Warm, good ambience, first rate loos and books on wall to borrow. No pretentions however, drink is significantly cheaper than nearest competitors. Food is basic, simple and excellent value. I like this pub and have been back, recommend a visit

Stayed here on the 1st of March and had a great stay. My room (14) was huge and had a superb shower. Really modern and clean. Breakfast was excellent and the chef, who was a really nice guy, came in early for me as I needed to leave earlier than the usual breakfast times. Would highly recommended this place😊

I've seen a couple of negative reviews, do not be put off by them! If it's the ritz your after then visit somewhere else! This place was opposite our accommodation so yes an easy first option, but we was not disappointed. It's a beautiful building, it's got a little modern feel with some of the cosy furniture along with traditional...

Really nice chick pea currry and beer at a good price. We visited on a cold night while walking the South West Coast Path. The staff were friendly and the pub welcomed children with helpful play stuff. The walls are lined with books so you could happily have read a novel while you ate.
