Country farm b and b, set in the beautiful Churnet valley, 10 minutes walk to Alton Towers, bbq and firepits, caters for families and groups. Great location for country walks, mountain biking, bouldering and stargazing. Very relaxing venue. All rooms are en-suite and there is a sitting room with open fire and a garden room for take away meals and breakfast js served every morning.
Absolutely lovely place and Liz is an excellent Host and really tasty cooked breakfast with quality produce, The sausages are excellent it was our first stay here but it definitly wont be our last even our kids said they preferred it to the Alton Towers Hotels, The family Room/apartment was lovely and warm and quiet , beds are comfy and it had separate rooms for kids and mother in-law you can leave your car on site if visiting Alton Towers as its just short walk to Away along the road or even shorter if you trek across the field and its an even shorter walk To see the actual chained oak tree We Even had a little visit from there 4 little dogs who are really friendly especially poppy and Verity and even there cat Feargal We left just after breakfast on the Sunday to head to…

We stayed in a lovely clean homely room. It was quiet, heater was available and water pressure in the shower was great. Beds were comfortable. There is a bench and hooks to store clothes which is rather convenient. There is also kettle with tea and coffee. Breakfast room was lovely and breakfast with farm eggs was very nice.

Myself and my son stayed here after a day at Alton towers and it was a fantastic experience. The room was so comfy and lovely and clean and the breakfast was superb. My son enjoyed a bounce on the trampoline and a play on the rope swing, as well as seeing the chickens and horses in the nearby field.

We are on our last morning after staying 3 nights here and can't find fault. Liz is an excellent host and has every basic need covered to stay. The rooms are comfortable and cleaned everyday. The shower in our room (3) has excellent pressure and offers a great refresh after a stressful day at Alton Towers. The towels are supplied, however we used our own. There is a small fridge available in a store room if you need to keep anything cold and an internal box freezer. The rooms overlook a small pond and the fields. To the front is the trees and the accomadation is far enough away from the road to not hear traffic. The breakfast is great. They offer 2 bacon 1 egg 1 sausage and a small portion of beans and mushrooms. There is toast which you make yourself either white or brown.…

Stayed here for two nights while visiting Alton towers, and we were absolutely blown away by how beautiful it was. We stayed in the double cabin which has a lovely porch area facing a lake. There is plenty of wildlife around and the scenery is stunning. The cabin itself was super cosy with warm heating and a comfy bed. The host was absolutely lovely and cooked us an excellent breakfast in the morning. Couldn’t recommend this place more especially if you are visiting Alton towers as it is literally walking distance. Will definitely be visiting again. 10/10

Perfect, pretty setting a 10 min walk across fields to Alton Towers. Friendly hosts - even set up the garden room for us one evening to bring in a takeaway. Delicious breakfast. Accommodation spotlessly clean. Highly recommend especially if visiting Alton Towers

Four of us stayed here on the 17th . We had a Xmas dinner at the ramblers retreat then later to the lightopia at Alton towers. We were all really pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the chained oak. The rooms were really well presented and with en-suite. Views of the countryside and great breakfast. Liz is a great host and made us feel very welcome. Definitely will stay here again.

We stayed here this month, Liz is the most amazing host. She’s warm and very caring, we arrived late for Alton towers and she had gone out of her way to try and find more tickets for the next day. The accommodation was perfect and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. We’ll definitely stay here again with the whole family.
