I spent one night in the hotel following their Halloween party and the place is amazing. The room was spacious and very comfortable and is the only hotel room I've ever stayed in which has a bathroom with a floor to ceiling stained glass window (see pic). The hotel offers excellent food and has two bars which serve some fantastic...

Fab place - lovely old parquet flooring in the entrance hall - we were given a choice of rooms - one with a four poster bed that looked lovely but we chose the one with the free standing bath! The room (1) was very beautifully decorated - my only comment is that they could do with putting 2 more lamps...

We spent a couple of days at this hotel as we needed to make an emergency visit to see family. The hotel owner was so friendly and really helped us out last minute. The rooms were very nice and comfortable and breakfast was fab! Thoroughly recommend this place 😄

An interesting building, eclectically furnished. A comfortable room and a good night's sleep, but the room was only 'refreshed' during the day, i.e. the bed was made, the cups cleaned, but the basin, and one therefore assumes the loo and bath, were not cleaned, nor the glasses. In our room the bedhead was very dusty and our friends had similar...

We stayed for two nights in this Hotel and whilst the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good the accommodation was somewhat lack lustre. There were no coat hangers and only a hanging rail no wardrobe, we had to boil the kettle on the floor as the lead was not long enough to reach the table as...

Having stayed at hotels costing this price (£95 and that's for a night in Leek not Chester!!) we expected much better than what we got for our room. Dodgy plug, wobbly toilet seat, cobwebs, dust...needed a really good clean! Also on main road so not the best nights sleep. Breakfast ok but sat at small tables a bit scrunched up....

Stayed here 3 nights, room was never tended to (apart from bed made late one evening when we were leaving next morning!) - expected to use same towels every day. Had to play hunt the staff, but as bar/restaurant closed monday, no-one was about to report problems to. No shower in bathroom which was fine, but you have to boil...

Lovely room and hotel, staff very helpful. Would recommend the tapas as it was the best we'd tasted for a long time. Bonus of real ale in the bar. Breakfast in the morning was excellent quality too. Will visit again even if too sample the tapas again!!!!

Get yourself to the restaurant in the cellar. We have been 4 times now and haven't been disappointed yet, food was yummy and wine went down a treat. My only comment would be to maybe answer the phone when people are trying to book a table...i called 5 times in two days and no one answered. lucky there was room...

We recently attended the wedding of close friends and the reception was held here. It was a fantastic day and the venue provided the perfect space for an intimate family day. The Silken Strand makes the best use of its outdoor space which flows naturally from the function rooms and bar. There gardens are large but very private and it's...
