We stayed only one night but would like to have made it more to sample more of the delightful and interesting food on offer. We ate in the restaurant whose ambience was much preferable to the separate bar area which was rather cold and unwelcoming in comparison. We can heartily recommend the squid starter which we thought sufficient for two...

What a lovely find, we wanted a relaxing evening in nice surroundings and that's what we got. The room was lovely and very spacious, we had dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent. The staff very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return.

Varied menu but quality of food pretty average for the price. I have eaten at other restaurants in the chain with better quality, and more friendly service. I felt the waiting staff were slightly anxious as though they were being scrutinised by higher management and although efficient and trying to be engaging I just felt no one was relaxed. Would...

We found this Inn on Expedia, selected only by proximity to relatives in Liphook and price. We were delighted with the reception on a stormy, snowy night. Exceptional bar, loved the mulled sloe gin in front of the fireplace. Our local relatives treated us to dinner in the restaurant, excellent menu, great wine list, and we especially liked the house...

This is a review about the restaurant. We did not stay at the hotel, but I couldn't find a separate review site for the restaurant. We had expected the restaurant to be very busy on the Friday evening before Christmas but it was pleasantly quiet. Our drinks (cocktails, a beer and a glass of wine) took an age to arrive...

Booked for a late lunch after a long walk on Saturday. First impressions were good with a warm welcome by the restaurant manager. We were running late and nearly at the end of their lunchtime service but didn't feel rushed at all. We ordered the burrata, fish pie and flat iron steak and all were delicious, especially the burrata which...

Well, couldn't fault the ambience, food was spectacular (as usual), music til 1.30. Great staff! 🙂 so friendly and helpful. We were anxious as we didn't get our usual room but Thorpe was clean, cosy, large bathroom with lovely shower and roll top bath. The usual complimentary bottle of gin and coffee maker and large comfy bed. Perfect! Just wish...

We popped in here for drinks and snacks ( after a walk in the amazing Sculpture Park opposite ) just as the sun was setting. The building looked really welcoming, glowing in the dark surrounded by countryside. The interior is quite vintage looking and beautifully done with a mix of subtle neutral shades, low lighting and a mixture of seating...

Stayed here for 4 days over Christmas in the Crawford room in the cottage. New England style decor - more Martha"s Vineyard than Churt Chic! Fabulous bed with best cotton sheets and duvet . Slept wonderfully after soaking in the enormous bath with unlimited and very unBritish like gushing hot water which filled in 2 minutes rather than 2 hours!....
