I stayed here for one night and had a very good night's sleep. The room was spotlessly clean with nice white bed linen. My room faced the back of the hotel so was lovely and quiet. The bathroom was good with a powerful shower and nice shampoos etc. The staff were very nice and helpful. I didn't stay for breakfast...

Really comfy, clean rooms. Good spot in the middle of the village. Food was good. Staff were really friendly. There seemed to be a steady stream of locals in and out all evening which made for a good atmosphere.

A last minute booking, I called direct instead of using LateRooms or Booking.com, getting a better deal direct, the guy on the phone sounded a little stressed but helpful, on my arrival I found the fire alarm had gone off and they were struggling to reset it, hence the stressed guy, this was soon sorted, very helpful staff and a...

I went to the Sir Douglas Haig on a Friday evening. An area was cleared at one end to make room for a band to play live music. The beer was fine and the service was good. The crowd was lively and loved the band who played songs ranging from 'She Bangs the Drums' through 'Drops of Jupiter' to 'Edge...

Fantastic value for money, great food served by very welcoming staff with a relaxed family feel to be felt. Came to stay on a business trip, and would reccomend those wanting an overnight stay with attentive staff, good food and pleasant surroundings. Ample parking space, very spacious rooms that where impecably clean and comfortably trimmed. Only fault i found, being...

I had a really lovely stay, nice room, nice people. Everything was perfect apart from the toilet seat in the bedroom had some kind of yellow stain on and was not secure! I had a word with management who then 'quick fixed' my toilet seat for now but one hour later the seat had come loose again! I spoke to...

I am actually writing this review whilst waiting for my egg florentine to be prepared for me. This place is a family run business with an amazing customer service, great food that will satisfy even the most peckish palate and a superb comfy bed so much so I am going to check the name of the mattress:). If you fancy...

Brilliant value for money. Our room was spacious and spotless, with a powerful shower(and bath) in the bathroom. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was as good as we have had anywhere recently and as well as quantity the quality was great! The property is in the middle of an interesting village with the grave of Barnes Wallis in the...
