First time here for a business lunch. The food was amazing - would highly recommend the pie. The establishment do their own home made pie, which is just scrumptious. The furnishing, decor and service are fabulous. Was very impressed and will visit again.

No idea why so many negative reviews. We went here for a 40th birthday meal as two couples. We ordered starters, mains and desserts. It was all fantastic and to the high standards we expect. The Malbec wine was very nice and well priced at £20, so good we ordered 3 in total! Don't be put off by previous reviews... More

Room quality seemed to be furnished from a car boot sale. Lots of things did not work. Cramped and pokey although generally clean. OK if you paid £35 but you expect better from a place like this. When we pointed these issues out to the Manager he got quite aggressive ! Do not stay here.

I have eaten at the Bell many times and always find the menu offers a good choice - specials and some house staples. The food is well cooked and tasty. However, accepting that the building is old, the rooms are tired and not of a great standard. Some simple changes could easily raise them to a more than acceptable level.... More

bedroom was poor, clean but many things didn't work. over whelming impression was that the place is high in maintenance requirements and the owners really were just tired of it all, and would have preferred to just be a restaurant food was good, pleasantly served. stick to the restaurant.

I'll try to keep this brief. Nice enough evening meal on arrival, good variety on menu and my food was cooked well, however others in our party were less than impressed with the steak. The young team serving in the restaurant were all polite and helpful. Our room was disappointing. Thread bare carpets are unacceptable, blackened paint on window frames... More

Pretty country pub . Trying to be trendy. Unfortunately not keeping up to trends . Stainless steel table tops in lounge bar/ restaurant. Felt like i was sitting at a work bench. I was going to eat , but judging by reaction of other diners ,, drove to local indian, The Crown and Bowling green ...recommended. Exterior of pub ,... More

Stayed at the Bell ready for a meeting the following day. Group of 5 of us and we received wonderful food along with excellent ale. We all enjoyed our stay at a place with character. Rooms were more than adequate and each one had its own individual style. Great nights sleep ready for the meeting. Thanks to all.

Pros Lovely location, village green outside is nice in summer, nice beer Cons Bedrooms could do with a lick of paint and a deep clean. Landlord was quiet short with his staff of young girls, he was quite rude. Breakfast is a rip-off, a continental breakfast of 1 small bowl of cereal, toast and butter, small tea, and orange juice... I've seen this pub change many times over the years and it is located in an affluent village. The exterior isn't too OTT whilst inside gives you that wine bar ambience. There is parking to the rear but everyone seems to park in the village green. It's really nice to sit out in the green in the summer with the... More
