I booked this hotel for my husband as he has always wanted to stay in a Pullman carriage and we were not disappointed. The carriages have been thoughtfully and beautifully converted into hotel accommodation with everything you could need. The slight roll of the carriage when people move about took a little getting used to but all part of the...

Our Second visit to this unique place. Although the Pullman carriages could do with a lick of paint, the experience was still very good. The room sizes in the carriages are good, and with modern facilities and heating, comfort is assured. The very attentive staff and personal service is great. The Full English Breakfast is excellent, and they also throw...

Our daughters bought us a stay in this establishment and having seen the literature, I could not wait to see the place. Normally, they do not do stays for one night, so we were lucky particularly as it was Easter weekend. On arrival, we were very warmly welcomed by Scarlet who explained everything we would need to know and showed...

Simply nostalgic and beautiful! It's a great concept and a must if you are looking for an alternative place to stay. The Ticket Office where they serve you drinks and breakfast has been beautifully restored. They are missing a trick on upselling to customers but that is their choice totally. Badgers pub is a short walk up the track and...

My son bought us a 2 day stay in the railway carriages as a birthday treat. We made the most of our time while there and visited Petworth House, Arundel and Chichester. The service and attention to detail at the railway carriages was perfect. We would definitely like to come again.

Last week we spent a great time in Petworth, West Sussex, which was unknown territory for us. We were made to feel so welcome - the accommodation was superb - who would not welcome the 4-star bedroom/bathroom, etc? - breakfasts were to die for! - and the weather smiled on us! This was a Break With A Difference! Thank you...

We'd stayed here before and as we were part of a group who wanted the carriage experience we said we'd forgo the carriages for a room in the Station House. The carriages are what its all about but in fact the Upper Room is far more comfortable with a much better bathroom so gets our vote for any return trips....

Enjoyed our weekend stay here. Very unusual type of rooms in pulman carriages, but they had all you need. Great bed, shower, and tea coffee etc. All very clean, towels were nice and fluffy and soft. Breakfast was timed but this allowed the staff to ensure everyone was looked after and therefore were not kept waiting. Would also recommend the...
