Some people are hard to please. At reception we were terrified because of reviews but a little banter with hostess was good. Every self contained unit should have plates and dishes washed by guest. We were offered and accepted breakfast and the chocs and port were readily accepted. The cabin was spotless and well appointed and the heater had been...

Like many others, our stay got off to a poor start with the awful service received at check-in. The woman has no idea about hospitality and customer service. When parking at the cabin I was concentrating on not hitting the fence only to be berated for not watching her arms directing me where to park. And when she walked passed...

I've just read some other reviews, including one about a previous good experience with a man called John and some about unwelcoming reception. I believe that the man recently died and perhaps other people are struggling to keep things going as before. We found the accommodation to be a strange mixture, being much more attractive and comfortable inside our 2...

To mark this place down based in the abhorrent manner of the lady at reception would be a disservice to fellow travellers. Our cabin was clean, very comfy, lovely fire and spa bath. All the mod cons and peaceful & quite. Walking distance to the pub for dinner or the Hungry Wombat next door for brekky. But please Louise.... Leave

The studio we had was well appointed and very clean. Reception was good and port and chocolates a nice touch. Whilst shower only had a curtain it was very large and enjoyable. There is no noise and sleep was peaceful. Pub down the road is only place for dinner and is basic and over priced. My biggest issue with accommodation...

Thank heavens we only had to spend one night in this dump!!! The one-room studio was so small we could barely turn around. It was dingy. It was supposed to have cooking facilities, but it only had a one burner induction stove. When I tried to use it to boil water for pasta, I could not get it to stay...

I choose accommodation with wifi availability a major factor. We did not meet proprietor at check in, a key had been left for us but I did have mobile phone number. On getting into chalet and turning on computer there was a strong signal named Derwent Bridge Chalets. I texted proprietor for password and received reply that wifi not available....

We cycled from Queenstown to Derwent Bridge to the Chalets arriving at 2.50pm. As check in time was 3pm we were told to wait on the stairs until the doors opened at 3.05pm. The check in was a bad start to our stay. On following the staff member to the reception desk, we stopped momentarily to answer a question from...

This was my fourth stay at the Chalets, but I'll think twice before doing it again. Our previous visits began with a warm and enthusiastic welcome from John, but this was in stark contrast to our most recent debacle. The woman at reception was rude from the outset, casting a pall over our entire stay in what is otherwise a...

The woman who owns this place was rude from the minute we arrived. She made it seem like we were an annoyance. I've never felt more unwelcome anywhere in my life. The check-in experience cast a pall over the rest of our stay. The cabin was clean and spacious, with a comfy bed and kitchen, but drafty at night. Also,...
