Stayed at this "hotel" during a recent business trip. This facility is extremely old and run down although the rooms have had a coat of paint, still terrible. No microwave or any type of cooking facility and trust me you won't want to go near the "Resturant" which is actually a rough wharfie pub as this is located in the...

Many thanks for taking the time to explain your disappointment with the Edgewater and location. If you are looking for a better accommodation option for the future, Edgewater has a range of premium rooms on offer, otherwise there are a number of alternative venues (including 4 star) on the other side of the river.

We booked early and we received the best room with the best view of the entire establishment. Excellent location, close to the Ferry. The very best view from our accommodation window, allowed us to see the river, especially the slowly approaching Ferry (Spirt of Tasmania) coming through. Best advice given, if you book, is to arrive early... otherwise you'll rise...

We have stayed at Edgewater on several occasions. We like the location to the airport and the ferry. The hotel is right on the water with great views. The Spirit of Tasmania sails right past and as we had a water view room we were able to watch it come and go. The service is great and our room was...

It is a great location... next to Spirit of Tasmania terminal and great views of the Devonport township. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

Our first visit to Tasmania and were welcomed at reception by friendly and helpful staff. Our room was small with good amenities, cozy enough for a nights stay. Sadly the heater made an annoying racket which my husband sorted out with a few firm hits. lol. .The bed was King size and I loved the fact it had 2 mattresses...

Friendly and helpful staff. The King room was comfy, clean and good value. My meal was fantastic and cheap. I loved the stay and would recommend it to anyone. The proximity to the Tassy ferry was great.

We were booked to sail from Devonport the next morning, so it was excellent to be so close to the Spirit of Tasmania. Only one night, with an evening meal and breakfast the following day. The room faced the water. For a one night stay it was sufficient.

If sailing on Spirit of Tasmania, you can't find a better location to have breakfast and board the ships. Thank you for your feedback.

Booked this motel as it was right next to the spirit of Tasmania ship. We had a king room, but it was very small and most disappointing was the king bed had the big gap in the middle where two single beds join, they need to rectify this problem. Parking was a problem when we were told we could park...

Very sorry to hear of your disappointment. The king bed consists of two king singles zipped together, so accommodation providers can offer twin and double configurations. Great for commercial properties but not recommended for home. Yes, the Courtyard rooms are small which are perfect for budget-minded travelers and priced accordingly. Edgewater has three other room types that are larger and...

From the outside, like everyone has said, the hotel is scary. Looks like perhaps it is used for very short term hire (if you get my drift). The room I had was small, a little tired but clean enough and had everything you would want. The service was outstanding and the basic pub food was brilliant, worth every cent and...

We agree, the property is aging (built 1884) and needs a refresh. But you beyond that and discovered our friendly service, quiet location and great restaurant. Thank you for your kind review.

We ate dinner at the Bistro & I can honestly say it was the best meal we have had in our 2 weeks in Tassie. I read the reviews & went with trepidation but it was close to the caravan park so gave it a go. Decor was lovely & modern, menu was comprehensive, meal sizes were huge & absolutely...

It was wonderful to hear your experience. The Port Restaurant menu is a combination of comfort dishes and old pub favorites, showcasing Tasmania's fine produce. Thank you for your thoughts.

I was booked here when I visited Devonport for work. The rest of my work party stayed at The Gateway (a true hotel) & for some odd reason, I ended up at the Edgewater. Best way to describe Edgewater is a Pub/motel. First bit of advice - if you are flying into Devonport airport - book your taxi ahead of...

This is a motel/pub (3.5 stars) with pokies. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to here that you were segregated from your colleagues staying at the Gateway (4 stars), an error made by your company. We well understand how your stay was unnecessarily disrupted.
