Freycinet Lodge delivered us the most amazing experience - a beautifully isolated forest location, where you go to sleep listening to the ocean waves. The walking trips are well balanced - forest and beach walks that are challenging yet within reach of most people. The guides are very friendly and knowledgeable, and all the staff can't do enough to make...

I am very happy we chose Freycinet Experience Walks for our 4 day hike through Freycinet. The walks were varied, accessed by boat some days and mini bus on others. There was hiking or fishing options on our first day or just lazing on the glorious and remote beach and after all of this a walk into our remote, architecturally...

Freycinet Experience offers total relaxation, wonderful scenery, excellent food and top-shelf staff. It is eco-tourism at its finest, being totally off-grid with no services (power is solar and water trucked in). I just cannot recommend this more highly to anyone seeking responsible yet delightful travel options in nature.

Friendly and dedicated staff and a stunning location but a couple of pointers for future bookers: The advertised walks on day 2 are not as the PR suggests but of longer duration - the Beach Walk that is advertised as a 5 hour/ 12 km walk is 'really' a 6am start for a 16 km plus a further 90 minute...

Dear DFBLondon, We are very sorry that our walking tour didn't meet with your expectations and are extremely disappointed you didn't stay to experience our walks as we are sure you would have had a wonderful time. Unfortunately there was miscommunication/misunderstanding during the map discussion for the day 2 walk. Day 2's coastal walk is a beautiful and gentle 12km...

The Freycinet peninsular is spectacular and after four days walking and experiencing its beauty you will have a special connection with the place. The connection is helped by the terrific and cool staff who look after you on the walks and at the lodge. They love their work and make everyone feel special. In retrospect I could have done more...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Freycinet Experience Walk is the original four-day journey along the stunning Freycinet Peninsula on Tasmania's east coast. Set against the dramatic granite backdrop of the pink-hued Hazard Mountains, guests walk through rich coastal forests and discover the purest of white beaches including the world-renowned Wineglass Bay. Led by engaging knowledgeable guides, guests are taken by boat into remote and rarely explored corners of the Freycinet National Park. Guests then travel in the footsteps of the Oyster Bay tribe, traversing the same ancient bush tracks trodden some thirty thousand years ago. Here they discover diverse marine and wildlife, nesting lagoons, wildflowers and other unique flora. A variety of abilities are catered for and the walk covers between 24 and 37 kilometers. Guests can choose between challenging mountain climbs or more leisurely coastal routes before regrouping at the end of the day. Guests also travel light needing only to carry a small daypack for their lunch and camera. Welcomed each evening to the award winning Friendly Beaches Lodge; guests enjoy stunning architecture, friendly genuine service and private rooms with comfortable beds. Exclusively for the use of the walking group (Max 10 guests), the uncomplicated luxury of the lodge has remarkable powers of rejuvenation. A fine collection of artworks by prominent Tasmanian artists and a well-stocked library add to guests enjoyment.
