We recently stayed at Freycinet lodge in a mountain terrace king (Room 74) for our honeymoon and loved every minute of our stay. We believe it is the staff and their service that makes the difference between a great stay and an exceptional stay and the staff at Freycinet lodge made our stay exceptional. Shout out to the below:- Jane at the front desk was amazing - super friendly, offered helpful suggestions of things to do and see and provided a seamless check in and check out experience. Matt in the Food and Beverage department- he served us for every dinner and nearly every breakfast. He went above and beyond each and every time. His professionalism, genuine friendly personality and knowledge made him a stand out during our stay. We’d also like to mention Glen who we saw for breakfast every morning during our stay. We loved walking in and seeing his smile each morning - we don’t think the smile ever left his face. Lastly we wanted to extend a massive shout out to the chefs. Our hapuka dish during our first night was absolutely delicious. We think we had some of the best dishes we’ve ever tasted during our stay at Freycinet, so thank you for making our honeymoon experience special. We loved every minute of our stay and will definitely be coming back. Many thanks, Jen and Chris

We arrived after dark after seeing the Penguins come ashore in Bicheno. We were welcomed so warmly by the bubbly staff member Dianne (spelling?!) who was on Reception that evening! She was so much fun and had us in stitches within minutes! We went for a night cap at the bar and then to our rooms. When we went for breakfast the next morning we were absolutely gobsmacked at the amazing view from the main Lodge area! Spectacular ocean views as far as you could see! What a way to start the day. Our breakfasts were delicious and the coffee was great. The staff as a whole were the most professional and friendly that we encountered at any property during our Tassie Trip (and we had some lovely staff but this Team was next level)! Dianne remembered my husband’s name the next evening and there were plenty of people staying at the resort. The Cabins were really lovely and the beds so comfy. The heated floors and heated towel racks (as well as HeatLamp) in the bathroom were so lovely when it was so chilly outside. We could not fault our stay here and can’t wait to return again.

Wonderful location, we only stayed one night but cabin and bed was very comfortable. Staff and food were great and loved the breakfast. Very happy to see complementary wine and chocolates in our fridge. Close to walks, room was very clean and we could park right outside our cabin. The lodge had a great atmosphere and I would definitely come back again.

It is always easy to find fault however we cannot fault anything about our stay at Freycenet Lodge. From the minute we entered reception to the time we drove out on departure the service was unremarkable. Our room was just perfect and so private, we didn’t need anything more. The decor and ambiance of the Lodge really compliments the location. The food and wine was spectacular. Well run, well managed…

Stayed in a cabin which was clean, spacious, warm and comfortable. The bed was huge and a day bed by the window was perfect for reading a book or relaxing and gazing at nature. Parking right outside was convenient. All staff we interacted with were friendly and knowledgeable. A great 2 night escape with friends to a beautiful location with great scenery.

I’ll start off by saying my stay was pleasant. I chose to stay at the lodge for 5 nights because I wanted an escape from my busy life, some quiet time, fresh air and a place that had good amenities. Staff were great, food was varied and tasteful, room 66 was quirky with great views. I’m not sure what else to say,,,,, I feel that there was something missing? I don’t think the lodge presented value for money, a few negative experiences left a disappointing impact. Our room came with unlimited mini bar and was stocked with mostly beer and 1 bottle of wine for the first night. My wife and I don’t drink beer and asked if the fridge could be stocked a single bottle of wine each night. This was request was meet with an immediate no but then staff stated that they will ask the manager and get back to us,,,,, the answer to that request never came. I thought that was a fair request given that fact that our room rate of $800 to $900/ night. Our morning to check out we asked for an hour extension due to a delayed return from a outing, this was met with an abrupt ‘you will be charged $100 if not out in time’ ,,,,,, we thankfully negotiated a30 minute delay. I liked my stay but wouldn’t go back and don’t feel to I got value for money.

A beautiful place to stay. The staff without exception are friendly and efficient. The cabin had a fabulous view and is very comfortable. Great value. The setting in the National Park is beautiful from looking at gorgeous sunsets from our balcony to seeing the wildlife outside our room. Would definitely stay again and recommend to everyone. You can do as little as you want or maybe go on a walk, a bike ride or the Wineglass Bay cruise

Wow this lodge is heaven on earth. So peacfull and tranquill. From the time you check in the staff are super helpful and friendly We stayed in a premier spa cabin and were blown away by how nice it was. You also get to have all the mini bar and breakfast is included The beds are super comfy, The room was clean and over looked the water. The wifi was great and all rooms have TVs and heating/cooling There are lots of walks to do or you can relax by the fire. The only little negative was the water pressure in the shower wasnt great but it didnt really bother us The food at the restaurants was good but it would have been better of they offered more variety especially for vegetarians. I would highly recommend staying here is you are on the East Coast of Tassie. 10/10

Beautiful cabin double spa with a great view. The lodge has a lovely atmosphere with open fire, good food and cocktails. Very friendly, helpful staff. Enjoyed the walk to Cole’s Bay Lookout. Found the staff very approachable and grateful for their advice on day trips and route plans. Would highly recommend.
