This YHA is located in the Iluka Caravan Park, and was a reasonable place for a good price. It's what you expect for a youth hostel - nothing fancy, bunk beds in dorms, common showers, a common lounge & kitchen. It wasn't super new but it was all clean and pleasant. The showers had good hot water. The free Wifi...

When you take into consideration most villas can be $200-$300 or more, this Caravan Park that also serves as a backpacker retreat is just fine. It's in an ideal location close to shops, supermarket, cafe and tavern. Plus, it's opposite a stunning beach. You can stay in a room that has 4 bunks for $100, with shared clean amenities.

The building is a little old & quirky but kept very clean with plenty of kitchen facilities which was a bonus. Only 2 showers & 2 toilets so had to be careful about timing. No power outlets in the dorms which was a pain. It is next door to a pub, bakery & convince store but a long walk into...

The accommodation was clean and comfortable after completing some of the activities in the area. The kitchen was well presented and was sufficient to prepare a nice meal. Easy lounge. Limited mobile reception which was terrific as it helped relaxation. Location is very good, close to amenities.

The pictures images are of the Illuka YHA, which can be confused with the Coles Bay YHA (review for that below) this place is quiet, but of a good standard. The hostel as a whole is clean, quiet and unpopulated. Only issues are the older crowd it has and the fact the toilets are closed between 10-12 for cleaning, a...

This YHA is in the BIG4 campsite and there is sufficient parking outside. It was pretty clean upon entry but cold and empty. There's no atmosphere but it's only a place to stay. Its a very basic YHA, so everything supplied is necessary, such as kitchen equipment, bed sheets and towels. However, it is not fancy and does not have...

In the winter this hostel is freezing! We asked if there was any way to make the room warmer and was told to take extra blankets from the rooms not being used and that the fire in the kitchen would heat up everything, that was a lie. No one at the desk cared when we mentioned it to them, they...

This is a great place to stay cheaply in one of Tasmania's most beautiful areas. It is a basic hostel, but clean and comfortable. We were a group of 6, so we booked out 2 bunk rooms...and that's exactly what they were...just 2 sets of bunks and one chair in the corner. As it is a small hostel, the facilities...

The YHA is left on his own. There is no heater in the room and we were frozen to death! When asked for extra blankets and pillows we just received one blanket which did not help much. There is a fire place in the kitchen but you must do it yourselve.

We stayed at the yha in the middle of winter, and were greeted with a tiny private room with an old double bed, and the window wide open making the freezing room even more freezing! We were happier to see however that there was a fire in the kitchen, and the facilities seemed clean and useable. Once we started cooking...
