Pros: Great value for money at $30 per site for 1 night during peak christmas period. We stayed recently in our camper van here. The site was separate to everyone else (except the wildlife which was amazing), which we really liked. Very unique for a camper van site. Toilets clean and there is a outdoor bath you can pay for...

We were expecting more services / comfort for the price, especially in the kitchen : we have been able to find cheaper accommodations (cabins, cottages) with excellent comfort and services during our 2 weeks road trip in Tasmania. The teepee concept was attractive, but we were globally disappointed.

Don't expect anything luxurious from the accommodation. The cabin's facilities are minimal with only a fireplace as heater and a basic kitchen and toilet, But it is located in a beautiful area surround by gorgeous trees and hiking trails. Don't miss this one if you are there for only a couple of days.

Hi Daan, Thanks for your review, glad that you enjoyed the "...gorgeous trees and hiking trails...". Our self contained cabins provide eco-responsible comfort. The wood fired heaters are carbon neutral, as we grow more wood than we burn. Furnishings consist of queen bed (some cabins also have extra bunks), 2 full sized sofas, dining table, outdoor setting. Kitchen has full...

We enjoyed a lovely night relaxing in the outdoor bath under a starry sky, watching the satellites cross overhead and a couple of shooting stars!! We even had a visit from some of the local and quite friendly wildlife!

Hi michaelalex, Glad you enjoyed our outdoor bath. This really is a lovely way to spend an evening. The view from Clifftop Cabin bath is even more spectacular when the Southern Aurora is happening. Thanks for your visit and review, Paul D

We've been visiting Tasmania for holidays for over 10 years and this is, without a doubt, another one of Tassie 's secret gems. My teenage kids and I spent 4 days in one of the beautiful eco-cabins, nestled within the mountain rainforest. Nature here is superb, great hiking trails and wildlife, perfect up close and personal encounters with wildlife and...

Hi Karen, A lovely review that well sums up what Huon Bush Retreats is all about. We have tried hard to create "...a perfect 'off-grid' holiday ..." location so we love hosting guests such as your family. As you discovered, 4 nights means that you have time to relax, explore and experience nature. We look forward to your next visit....

Beautiful place, such tranquility and wonderful facilities. Thank you for a lovely gem in the bush. We stayed in a walk in camp site which was an easy short couple of steps to our car, and well worth the privacy and quiet of being amongst the bushes. The wildlife was beautiful to be so close to. We enjoyed the open...

G'Day Nemilya, Thanks for your review. Yes, our walk in campsites offer lovely privacy, or some people prefer the convenience of the car access campsites. Good to read that you enjoyed the walk and the "...thought provoking statements about the Indigenous peoples..." Cheers Paul D

I recently stayed in a tipee at the Huon Bush Retreats. The tipee consisted of a fold out couch bed, shelving, coffee table and fireplace. The bed was firm but fine. The tipee had plenty of room for my belongings. The deck was terrific. Be prepared for plenty of wildlife. Possums scooting up and down the tipee at night, sneaky...

Our only regret is that we wished we had known about the availability of dinners. A longer stay would also be great. It's a great base for visiting other attractions but a very peaceful and relaxing place simply to chill out. Very helpful owners.

Hi susiej127, Thanks for visiting. We get a lot of comments that "...A longer stay would also be great...". This really is a great place to spend at least 2 nights so you have a whole day to relax, explore and experience nature. With a few days notice, we can get fresh ingredients and deliver dinner to your cabin as...

This was a great spot for us to rest and unwind. In the heart of the Huon for day trips (Willie Smiths, Ida Bay Railway, Tahune Airwalk, the list is endless) and beautiful surroundings to come back to. The kids had a blast looking for wallabies and possum everyday. We climbed Mt Misery (which is on the property), it was...
