We managed to book this from Strahan and so glad we did as it was one of the nicest places we stayed in Tasmania. We stayed in the Derwent which has a separate main bedroom. But also has 3 other large single beds. All the rooms including the bathroom were roomy and very comfortable. We sat by the river with...

This property is in a very nice location on the river front. The owner Veronica was very friendly and helpful. Our room had the usual facilities of double bed, bathroom, veranda etc. A nice touch was provisions for a continental breakfast which wasn't expected. It was in a an ideal position for the day trips that we wanted to make...

Just outside the centre of New Norfolk, this is the place to stay if you want peace and a lovely riverside setting. The cottages are neat and clean with all of the usual facilities. Have an evening drink on the jetty as the sun goes down...wonderful.

Beautifully appointed and immaculate unit. The river location and access is delightful. The town is pleasant and quite lively (for the Derwent Valey.....). Hands-on, friendly management. Comfortable bed, super bathroom, good kitchen with adequate breakfast supplies. Road noise does penetrate somewhat. Highly recommended.

We had a delightful one night stay and had a special close up sighting of a platypus while enjoying a wine on the jetty overlooking the Derwent River.. The breakfast provision were delicious and the room was great.

Stayed 2 nights at Shingles . Was most impressed by the quality of furnishings etc. Veronica is the most trusting of hosts and very friendly. Very pretty location on the banks of the Derwent River in New Norfolk. Easy drive to Russell falls and Salmon Ponds and both well worth a visit. Only problem was WiFi connection.

Great little cottage. It has all the facilities that you need. Lovely and clean and modern. Heaps enough room for a portacot and for all our luggage. Great place and could have stayed for much longer than just one night there. :)

First time that we haven't booked ahead, on arrival the owner was heading out for the evening. Within minutes we were unpacking our car and Veronica had set us up with a perfect breakfast for the next morning, she was very trusting and accommodating. The unit was well appointed with everything and the river behind was beautiful. Bed was super...

The cottages are located on the banks of the beautiful Derwent River close to the historic town of New Norfolk (settled in 1807). There is so much to do in the area and the local people are friendly and very helpful. The cottages are nice with all of the usual conveniences and well priced. Probably in need of a little...
