This is a fairly basic hotel, BUT the location and the relaxing atmosphere makes it a great place to stay a few days. The restaurant has lovely options, the breakfast is free, basic but adequate, and the location really is perfect!

We stayed here for one night and booked online, we saw lovely photos online of nice rooms and decor however when we got there our room was very old, carpet was old and stained and the bathroom was in poor general condition. Bed covering was old style and the whole place in general is outdated. Very dissappointing when you think...

The Scamander Beach Hotel/Motel is situated on the Great Eastern Drive near the bridge in Scamander. The rooms have views of "the garden" " the river" or "the ocean". It has a massive Bistro dining room and serves lunches as well as an extensive a la carte dinner at night. A breakfast of cereal, toast etc is included in the...

My partner and his crew of 10ish stopped here on their way to St. Helens. They were doing so as a part of their friend's bucks weekend. They spent quite some amount of money here on drinks and food. Unfortunately, what they received was sub par. Slack service - ONE AND A HALF HOURS FOR FOOD TO ARRIVE, no communication...

I have enjoyed the many visits to this hotel. It has wonderful views from most rooms and is close St Helen's, Bay of Fires etc. The new owners (friendly) are going to renovate the rooms (some already done). Perhaps just in time. The bottle shop is good, the public bar adequate, the restaurant in a steep decline and the room...

We have been staying at this hotel for over 10 years. We never require our room to be serviced during our stay. It is in a great location and we often have stayed for two or three nights. We don't eat in the restaurant as we do not eat deep fried food. On our last visit the cleaning staff knocked...

While the resort is about 50 years old, the rooms have been updated and very clean. Beautiful beach views from every room. The dining room is of a high standard with a good menu choice. Would stay there again.

We had booked 3 rooms as to accomodate the owner by not being able to supply to us a family room. He did not even want to help us with details and directly hypocritical to what was said to me about organisation as what he told my wife and her official entourage Reminded me of a true life Faulty Towers...

We had 2 nights at the Scamander Hotel Motel on our recent trip to Tassie. It is set back a little from the main road and has great views over the sea. There is a large carpark at the back. The owners are very nice and trying to get the place going again. Our room was spacious and clean. The...

We visited the five spice restuarant while in town for the night. I ordered the pork belly with mash and veggies. Totally disgusting, the pork belly was like a slither of pork that had been cooked and reheated and it was well and truely past its use by date, I couldn't even stab it with my fork it was that...
