What a great surprise find! We stopped on route not expecting to get much, not even sure if the pub was open. Well the place was buzzing, tables full but room for us. Staff were very friendly. We ordered the chicken schnitzel special advertised on the board. $15 for the schnitzel plus a choice of two out of three of...

My previous review was a good while back..i must say things are on the up and up at this historic hotel, a new kitchen and great a attitude makes this a good place for great pub meals...the side salad with home made dressing is really good...chips a plenty (maybe still too many). Good choice of mains and entrées. Love that...

The hotel is very clean and it looks like everything is made with love... just many little details in the arrangement of the rooms and decoration that gave me this feeling of being at someone's home. We also had good time at the bar downstairs, that surprisingly closes at 12 at night.

Great pub meal - reef and beef with veg (baked potato and pumpkin, corn cauliflower, asparagus and broccoli). I had the grilled chicken breast in a garlic white wine sauce, also with veg. We washed it down with a bottle of red wine and it did not break the piggy bank. Well done St Marys Hotel. Improved only by an...

We had a very enjoyable lunch here until my main course turned up with entirely burnt black pumpkin and potato. Entrees were great, however I don't understand how the chef could put such obviously burnt vegetables on a plate and not think anyone would notice, brain fade. I showed the supervisor when we left and she wasn't impressed.

What a pleasant surprise this little pub was! A wood heater in the dining room provides real warmth and country charm. Overall, a great country atmosphere with friendly, professional service (I did not hear the word "youse" once!) The meals were well sized, well presented and above all, delicious.

Thank you to owners for a safe, comfortable night's stay. There is no missing this beautiful landmark in St Mary's. Room is clean and simply furnished. Shared bathroom. Simple serve yourself breakfast. Fabulous old world atmosphere. A few colourful characters in the bar. Definitely worth popping in here, even if you don't stay the night.

Great hotel on Tassies east coast. Value accommodation with facilities down the corner. Tariff included breakfast which was basic continental. The pub grub was nutritious and generous. Had an 8 ball table and a band stage. Good sitting outside and watching the traffic. Recommended and would stay again.
