The Franklin Manor hotel is a lovely old building which likely once was a private home. We came in late and there was a note on the door but the reception was still working. We were glad that our room was on the ground floor as we had lots of baggage. The room had a slightly old appearance and when...

Rooms are hot & small. Can only have 1suitecase open at once as there is not enough floor space for 2 suitcases. Inadequate hanging space with 4 coat hangers. Only 1 suitcase stand provided. Phone coverage SOS only. WIFI only available in lobby. No on site laundry. Receptionist pointed out 2 laundries on a map. Meant nothing as I do...

Gorgeous homestead, well equipped and walking distance to the main part of Strahan. Very convenient and the continental breakfast was lovely and well catered. Individual rooms with spa facilities. Special thanks to the Manager for waiting for us as we were late arriving. Also to her daughter who was very hungry and didn't complain.

This beautiful old house transported us back in time. Beautifully restored, we had a lovely big room with our own bathroom, very clean and with a fridge. Continental breakfast was more than adequate. The house is within walking distance of the village of Strahan and Gordon River Cruises. Top spot.

We had two lovely nights here. Staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful and we found the location just right. Wifi only in downstairs lounge. We used it as a base for the Wilderness railway. Would love to return.

We stayed 2 nights in Strahan and were very happy we choose Franklin Manor to stay at. Beautiful old house with so much charm, big open fire and huge lounges surrounding it, lovely cosy rooms with a big bathroom. Breakfast served in the dining room looking over the garden, boiled eggs, toast, cereal and fresh fruit. Fantastic and friendly service,...

I'm a bit over colonial accommodation with their smaller rooms, late addition ensuites, often gloomy outlook at least compared with modern tourist accommodation. Franklin Manor was, to my surprise, nothing like this! It has a warmth and charm both in its physical set-up and in the way staff interact with visitors. Our room was perfectly sized, cozy but with a...

Stayed two nights with my honey at Franklin Manor in Strahan, Tasmania in spa suite #5 with a king bed. This 14 room B&B is probably one of the better properties in Strahan. Breakfast had the usual items plus boiled eggs. The WiFi was good only in the lobby and not on the second floor. Based on the beautiful weather...

I stayed 2 nights at Franklin Manor and believe me I could have stayed a month or forever. It is a beautiful old home with comfortable nooks everywhere. Cosy lounges with huge fireplaces for winter nights. Clean and immaculately maintained throughout. The staff could not be nicer and helped book trips for us at no cost, were very informative about...

This is a charming old Manor that's been restored with beautiful seating areas outside. Inside are lovely warm log fires with intimate seating areas. Strahan is about the Gorden River and Wilderness and Franklin Manor offers a cosy intimate retreat to reflect after a day seeing some of the worlds most spectacular scenery. We were a party of 4 with...
