Great setting ,very comfortable but lots of fawlty towers moments. Poor maintenance ie outside lights not working ,compendium missing and no contact numbers after7 Very little help for guests Restaurant food delicious but understaffed and very slow They really need to lift their game The owners need to support their hard working staff

This time, the picture does not tell a thousand words. After a rather grueling road trip from Hobart we were looking forward to a tranquil retreat for 2 nights. It didn't happen. Reception was indifferent. We then drove up on blue metal to the rear of our tin shed (guest parking) dragging our bags to the door. The front is...

Best meal in our 10 days travelling around Tasmania. Wonderful seafood and friends enjoyed the pork cutlet. Setting perfect and staff very helpful. Food was well presented and no long waiting times. Dessert menu looked most inviting but previous courses did not leave room. Thanks to chef and staff from 4 visiting NZers

We have stayed at Risby before. But now it has gone downhill. Main difference is the Indifference of management. Attention to detail has fallen off. Customer service all but gone. If you do stay here, pick the upstairs unit near waterfront.

We made a booking for 8 people (for the March long weekend) some time ago only to be very recently advised our booking had been cancelled because a larger group had been booked in. We found other accomodation in Strahan and we had a great time, but cancelling a group's booking is poor form indeed!

We have stayed at Risby Cove many times previously on our tours of Tasmania. We booked in again this year and expected that, by making and confirming a booking, we had a booking confirmed. A week prior to our arrival we were contacted to be told that someone else had booked the whole property and hence our booking was not...

Our boathouse cabin was ok but the lack of some basic maintenance marks it down. We had only one night which was enough as the bedroom was tiny with little space around the room and it was necessary to keep one of our cases in the lounge. The bathroom is best described as basic with spa bath with shower over...

Not a lot of dining options in Strahan so this place, just a bit beyond the main drag, was a good find. It's a hotel too, so gets busy and booking advisable. But probably the main 'find dining' option in Strahan. Good food and wine choices, pleasantly served, in a nice ambience on the waterfront. Definitely worth a visit

Stayed 3 nights in a cabin on the waterfront which had some basic self catering facilities. There's laundry on site and a restaurant -which we didn't use for dinner. We did use it one day for breakfast and it was plentiful and the staff were friendly and chatty. There's also free WiFi but we found this very unreliable and had...

Very comfortable accommodation in individual cabins with views directly out over the harbour. Ducks will greet you when you walk out the door in the morning! Lots of cafe's around for breakfast after tea and coffee in the room. Dinner in the restaurant was very good with good service from the young waiters. Lamb shank dishes that were cooked long...
