If you are a fan of FLW, architecture, or art you must book a weekend stay at the Louis Penfield house. It is so wonderful to be able to explore every nook and cranny of a FLW design. There is much literature on the house as well as FLW books to read through while you sit in front of the...

Stayed two nights and it was heaven. Absolutely beautiful place, owners are wonderful. We highly recommend a visit. The river in the backyard (front yard per Frank Lloyd Wright) is great to hike. Dear came right up to the house and so many good books about FLW and the Penfield House!

Just returned home from a weekend at the Penfield house. It is one of only a handful of Frank Lloyd Wright houses that are available for rent, so if you have any interest in Wright's architecture, this is definitely worth a stay! The house is one of Wright's "Usonian" houses, designed for middle class people rather than the wealthy. It...

What a terrific experience - to stay in a Frank Lloyd Wright house. It was amazing! There is so much light and peacefulness while inside the home. We used the fireplace nightly. Great location to visit Cleveland area sights and restaurants too.

My husband and I just celebrated our 35th anniversary at the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Louis Penfield House in Willoughby Ohio! It was a little tricky to find the entrance, but one look at the gate & we knew we were in the " Wright" place! The home has been lovingly restored to its original splendor & sits on a...

Spent two nights here. Very interesting information provided by owners on the history. Many features common to other Wright-designed homes. House is set back in a woods. Has obviously been cared for with a sense of love and history. Two bedrooms, one full bath, well equipped kitchen (microwave but no oven).

My husband and I are big fans of FLW and have stayed in three of his homes. We loved the following about the Penfield: The 30 acres of secluded forest The bird feeder and deer Walking around the ruin of the art studio and the river The selection of FLW books (especially the Taschen books) Most of all we enjoyed...

We've stayed in 5 FLW houses, the Penfield House is by far the best. The house is well cared for, original furniture, everything supplied for a comfortable stay. The grounds and views are amazing, both looking out of the house or sitting on the lawn looking at the house. Using the fireplace is a real plus - thanks for the...

Our family holds a reunion here every othe Thanksgiving. We love it but wish the house had an oven. Great views. Nice books to page through. Frequent sightings of deer. Wonderful way for us to spend quiet times together. Also convenient to many sights in the Cleveland area.

We had a good three days to get away from Southwestern Ontario, so, we decided to book the Penfield House, located east of Cleveland, in the sleepy bedroom community of Willoughby Hills. If you are in need of rest and relaxation, plus, a ‘back to nature’ experience, we thoroughly recommend renting this 1950’s Frank Lloyd Wright designed property. It was...

“There is quite a bit of noise from the highway that can be heard 24 hours a day. We recommend using the fans in the house at night to provide white noise to help improve sleep quality.”
