So, my wife and I had a bad experience here and will not return. However, I am giving them 3 stars and presenting the facts here so you can decide for yourself. So, on the plus side, the location is fairly convenient, near I-44. The breakfast was ok, and they cleaned the room regularly. The room was big enough and the beds were ok. There were plenty of places to plug in electrical equipment, and the TV carried lots of channels, and they had a TV directory (not that common nowadays). Parking was never an issue. OK, now the issues. First of all, they are renovating the hotel, so the 4th floor is closed and so is the swimming pool. Soon they a will be renovating floor 2 (where we were) and then the 3rd floor. On arrival, when we checked in, I felt the person who checked us in was not very friendly and judgmental. Shortly after we arrived, my wife and I made an error and unwittingly tried our room keys on the housekeeping room, our error entirely. Obviously, this did not help after what happened later. A manager came up to show us our room and make sure we got in; fine, but she was not very nice about it. The next 24 hours went ok. When we returned to our room around 6PM the next day, the A/C had stopped working, and the room temperature was 75 degrees, eventually reaching 78, and falling to 77 the next morning. Management did not initially believe this was a serious problem (possibly understandable given our earlier error), and they got the A/C to blow out air, but it was room temperature air or even warmer, so the temps did not go down. Eventually, the manager recognized there was an actual problem. However, she informed us there was no other room available (likely true). They gave us an old fan, possibly not used for 2 years, but that is not clear. The manager said she had "dusted it off." The fan DID help us get through the night. However, the toilet began to malfunction, refilling constantly. This stopped about 4 in the morning. Also, one of the TV channels suddenly became unavailable due to a "weak signal." So, we did not tarry too long the next morning, and left. Management did not offer any discount on our bill or any incentive to return to the Wyndham chain. Hence our decision to use other hotels in the future. …
