We have been visiting these cabins for 15 years and it's always a great trip! The Summit Meadow Cabins are an amazing unique and super fun experience in the winter! It took us about an hour to ski into the cabin...right up to the front door. It's a easy ski for beginners with just mild rolling hills. The space is... More

We went to Oregon to immerse ourselves in green, and this cabin sure delivered! Looking out of each window, all you would see is trees. The little creek right next to the cabin was the icing on the cake. (We stayed in the Falls Creek A-Frame) Sitting out there at night roasting marshmallows over the fire was pure bliss. And... More

We just finished our third year staying at Summit Meadows Cabins. Every year (same weekend) we ski in with a group of friends and have a wonderful time! The Meadow Chalet is great for our group and has a magnificent view of Mt Hood straight out the living room window. The cabin is very clean, warm and has everything you... More

We've been staying at one of these cabins in winter for 7 years. After the first couple of years, we picked one (Chimney Rock A-Frame) and made it a New Year's (and my husband's birthday) tradition. Because you ski or snowshoe in, winter evenings are quiet and skiing by headlamp is a special treat. (This year we were lucky enough... More

Twice a year, in February and August, I go to Mt Hood with a group of friends for a four-day “women-only weekend” at Summit Meadows Cabins near Government Camp. I look forward to these visits all year long, and the memories of our happy times in this idyllic forest retreat have seen me through many a challenge elsewhere. The cabins... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Summit Meadow Cabins have been providing memorable getaways for families and small groups since 1982 when Dave and Wendy decided to share this unique setting located south of Government Camp in a small section of private land surrounded by national forest. Our fully outfitted cabins are located in a wooded, creekside setting on Mt Hood's southern flank.Close to hikes, bike trails, lakes, wildflowers, birding and more, it's the perfect place for a summer family reunion, a small group activity or a secluded getaway for a couple. Once the snow falls, guests leave their car behind and GET to xc ski or snowshoe 1.5 miles to reach the cabins which are in the middle of a great xc ski and snowshoe trails system. Most don't return to their cars until it's time to head for home. ... more   less
