Mazama Lodge offers a great value for lodging just a few minutes from the climbing trailhead to Mt. Hood. Renee, who checked in a climbing friend and me, and who also is chef and manager, is incredibly friendly, patient and helpful. The meals are tasty, healthy with high-quality ingredients. This lodge is for the outdoorsman. You get a padded bunk in an unheated bunkhouse with shared restrooms & showers. You need to provide your own sleeping bag & pillow. The main lodge is beautiful & most people spend their time here by the fireplace until bedtime. Fastidiously clean. In the winter you will have to walk up about 100... More

We stayed at Mazama Lodge and were quite pleased with the rooms. There were four separate rooms in each cabin. Separate meant separate. Each room had it's own locked entry, private bath and standard motel features. ...either two queen beds or a king, simply but nicely appointed. The only downside is you were not on the lake. A group of us stayed here a couple nights. It is a little rustic set up. You sleep on bunk beds and share a bathroom. The sitting area is nice with a large fireplace. We took advantage of the option to have our meal cooked for us, the meals were great. No alcohol allowed due to it being a kids... More
