I have stayed at Jacksonville Inn twice -- once in the main hotel several years ago and most recently in cottage 9 a block away from the main hotel. All I can say is that both were perfect! The office staff were great, the hotel restaurant was good for dinner, the breakfast that was included in the price of the...

We chose the Jacksonville Inn as a place to stay during a weekend of marathon play-going at the Oregon Shakespeare Theater. It was a very good decision. Jacksonville is far from the madding crowds of Ashland, except in drive time, and quiet enough that there are often deer cavorting on the main streets in the evenings. The inn is historic...

We stayed in the Frank Carter cottage. Comfortable bed, great shower. The room has a huge tub for two to one side of the room and a big gas fireplace on a large raised peninsula, right in the middle of the room, both of which somewhat intimidated us. Lots of bust wallpaper. The room was clean and the shower was...

Great Experience. Staff was friendly. Room was fantastic, and the location in the middle of the quaint downtown and the 4min walk to The Britt venue is excellent. The food at the restaurant is great, and the value for the money is well worth it. If you are local, or long distance, it's worth adding to your itnierary for travelling...

We had the fortune of selecting the Jacksonville Inn as our place to stay on Memorial Day weekend. My wife and I were looking for a nice relaxing place to stay in Southern Oregon that we hadn't been to recently. That place happened to be the beautiful little town of historic Jacksonville. When we arrived at the Jacksonville Inn we...

This is our 3rd visit to a Jacksonville Inn property. I believe they have 3 in Jacksonville. This property is more of the hotel style with multiple rooms. We've stayed at the cottage downtown on C St as well, which is cute, quiet and centrally located. It's next door to C St Bistro, which is excellent for dinner. This hotel...

In April, for my 50th birthday, my husband and I headed to Ashland and then Jacksonville. While in Jacksonville we stayed in the Presidential Cottage owned by the Jacksonville Inn. The cottage was beautifully decorated and had lots of amenities like a steam shower, soaking tub, 3-way fireplace and a large comfortable bed. We loved that it had its own...

This is a lovely dining room, with excellent food and service. The ambience is old-fashioned and intimate, with tables lit with fixtures that appear to be candles, but enough ambient light to see the menu and your companions. It is suitable both for couples and groups of friends. I am a widow, and I often dine here in comfort with...

A good selection of very comfortable rooms, each with a unique theme. Very clean. Coffee and biscotti served in the hallway in the morning. Excellent full menu breakfast included. The dining room serves an excellent dinner as well. Nice fully shaded (or heated if need be) patio dining. We hope to return.

We stayed a long weekend for our anniversary this June. The staff knew of the occasion and were more than courteous. The venue is wonderfully restored and decorated and the restaurant is absolutely first rate food. The town is really well restored and in the shops you can leave a lot of cash behind.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Housed in one of gold-rush Jacksonville's early permanent structures, the Jacksonville Inn perpetuates the nostalgic romances of that era. Built in 1861, the walls of the dining area and lounge were built of locally quarried sandstone, and specks of gold are still visible in the mortar. The town is the first in America to be named a National Historic Landmark, and Jacksonville has preserved its 19th Century charm.Located in the heart of this national landmark town, The Inn is an elegant historic bed and breakfast featuring luxurious Honeymoon Cottages. Gerry Frank of the Portland Oregonian named the Inn as the "Most Romantic" lodging in Oregon. As one of Oregon's most acclaimed restaurants, it received the Medford Mail Tribune's "Readers' Choice Award" for five consecutive years as "Best Restaurant." The Wine and Gift Shop has over 2,000 wines and received Wine Spectator magazine's "Best of Award of Excellence," one of 600 in the world. ... more   less
