Lodge itself is a nice step back in time. The lodge sitting room is very comfortable and the restaurant was quite good -- especially for breakfast. Food service in the restaurant was mixed. One day they were short a waitress and the one remaining one was a trooper trying to take care of too many customers for one person. Management...

Thank you for your review, Fritz. The Wallowa Lake Lodge is a work in progress with new owners since April 2016. We value our employees as well as our guests and will take your comments to heart concerning the front desk staff.

We had, as the front desk person termed it, the "premier" room at the Lodge. The price for this comfortable and large room was only $185 a night. A "steal" for such a comfortable and relaxing room, with a scenic view and balcony. The housekeeping staff was friendly and responded generously to our every request. The food in the dining...

We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin (Sumac) and were happily surprised by all of the amenities. Fully stocked kitchen, daily maid service, firewood stocked for the cabin, and free wifi are just some of them. The lodge itself is cozy and inviting. We played board games every day and loved watching the deer throughout the day. Staff are very...

Came here for a long weekend with my wife. Had been here once before as a kid and in 20+ years, nothing has really changed. This place is a true gem. It is also a rustic lodge, so keep that in mind. Breakfast is cheap and delicious (a $4 pancake is the size of a small child) and the front...

Our clean third floor room (no elevators) was adequately furnished and had a small adjoining bath. The staff was cooperative and helpful. Breakfast in the Lodge dining room was tasty. Internet was free. Our room was A-ok. However, it is the experience of staying in the Lodge that earns my 5 star rating. As a returning guest, I knew I...

This is exactly what it is named: a Lodge. By no means fancy but it provides everything you need, epic views, fantastic staff, very good food, and does not provide those things you should not have on a vacation, namely, TV, radio or clocks. Spectacular hiking and water access is right there. If upgraded hotel or resort style accommodations are...

Lodging is in the style of the old national park lodges-rustic, cozy. Lobby area with fireplace and lots of seating is a very comfortable place to sit and talk or read. Fixtures (sink & bathroom) are very old, but place has been well maintained. Interesting to look through binder with news articles about the lodge history and recent change in...

I was in room 209, trying to be victorian , with old furniture, lots of lacy curtains, outdated bathroom and awful bed, not even a table to write on. The price of the room was 170 dollars a night booked months in advance - the whole set up was ridiculous. I was there for a week and every time I...

Thank you for taking the time to review the Wallowa Lake Lodge. This building was constructed in 1923 and the decor of the property reflects that time and age, right down to the hand made bedspreads and window coverings. It's not for everyone, especially for those who are more comfortable with modern furnishings and amenities. And thank you for noting...

I recently stayed at Wallowa Lake Lodge. I wanted to introduce new friends from California to this beautiful area. The rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. That was not a problem for us but may be for others as there is no elevator. The rooms are charming but simple. There is no TV and no phones and cell...

The lodge has a fantastic lobby and lounge area that is fun for hanging out and playing games in, or reading a book by the fire. The lodge is on the opposite side of the lake from the town, so it's a short drive to Joseph. There is a little village around the lodge that is fun to walk around...
