We stayed here for a night while visiting the John Day Fossil Beds. Check-in was fast and super friendly, and the room was very clean and comfortable with plenty of blankets and quilts (!) on the beds. Water pressure in the shower was amazing after a day of hiking, and the wifi was pretty fast as well. There was DirecTV...

Spent the night during a cross country bicycle trip. Better than camping. One dish towel as only towel in the bath room. Plumbing worked. A bit run down. Bed OK. Considered myself lucky to find anything in Mitchel and at least it was a quiet place.

Stayed in room 2, VERY small, thought it was way overpriced. A full size bed, TV was about 12". The room only had min-blinds that did not close completely to keep out the light. Place was clean, but very dated (usually do not mind that, but the room with tax was $93, crazy!). Folks at check-in friendly. Location convenient.

We has not booked anything in advance and were happy to find a vacant room in this super small town in a deserted area of Oregon. Staff/Owners were very friendly. The room was quite small and dated, but clean. It contained a small kitchenette with basic equipment. The walls seemed paperthin. We had a family with young kids next to...

Spent one night here. Our unit had two bedrooms and a kitchen. It was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the view from the front yard in the afternoon. While the hotel is on the hill above the highway, it's a quite road. The owners are really friendly. Only suggestion: If you like good coffee, bring your own as what they provide...

Our experience seems drastically different from other posts. We stayed here for one night. I also had to call several times before someone answered the phone. I was thinking we got the last room from the way she talked. But when we arrived we were the only ones there. Very friendly host upon checkin. Motel overlooks the small town of...

We stayed for three nights in Mid-April. Lovely rooms. Lots of room. Very nicely refurbished. Internet quite satisfactory. All but the plug in the bathroom are only for two prongs but there was an adapter on the microwave. First night was warm and we slept with window open. Town is incredibly quiet and we could hear the creek running through...

Stayed here with my wife in February actually! Very clean updated room with a warm and cozy fill! I love the view looking over Mitchell! A very quiet place! Friendly owned, then offered me a place to plug in my diesel! We will be back!

Agree totally with Claudia's previous post. New owner also very pleasant. Had 2BR suite w/ living room & kitchen. Everything was clean & had basic necessities. Few lodging options in remote area but Fossil Bed Monument worth it.

I stayed here for two nights during a trip to see the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. This place is a cross between an old motel and cabin. Wood floors, a quilt on the bed. Very clean, very quiet and the owner is a lovely guy. Be prepared as there are no phones in the room and cell service...
