I always try to get away from a major road and the configuration of this property accomplished that...what a pleasant surprise! The room was super clean and comfy, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I look forward to staying here in the future.

We were shopping for a nights stay and initially were concerned with a 2 star hotel rating but went ahead and reserved. We were very pleasantly surprised. Very nice gentleman at check in, rooms were clean and quiet and breakfast (continental) was delicious. We would definitely stay here again!

After my 3rd stay here, I am still impressed with the staff, cleanliness, comfortable beds and the Rooster breakfast room. The breakfast options are adequate, several items to choose from. This is an old hotel and rooms are small, but it is a nice place and we are always happy with the affordable price. The Rugged Country Lodge is not...

Here are the facts: The floor boards above room 5 are louder than any noise in a hotel or house I've heard. Service made me feel unwelcome at best (check in with I assume the owners son) and flat out rude and unacceptable towards a paying guest at its worst. Completely awful experience. Details/ long winded rant because yes, I'm...

Secure with parking right in front of the rooms. The train tracks are about one block behind the hotel and the trains run by frequently, but...

Very nice and affordable. Comfortable beds and good breakfast. The bathrooms were clean as were the rooms. The family that runs the place was very kind and helpful towards my friends and I. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Put up with us college students and had great rates. Would definitely stay here again. Only bad thing was that breakfast was kinda light with no protein but no big deal since it was so cheap. Owners are really friendly.

Great overnight place! Great service! The owners were incredibly helpful when I had any questions. Nice clean room and bathroom. WiFi was included and they even had breakfast in the morning. Perfect for an inexpensive overnight stay.

Great room for a low price. They accommodate us each year and it's always a great time. Clean bathroom, comfortable sheets/bed, morning breakfast. Overall just a great place to stay for a night or two.
