Chose this based on location of some things we were doing in town, worked perfect. Room was very nice, quaint. The full kitchen was very good to have, however there were no items in the kitchen to use so we went out and bought a pan to make some food. Room was clean, fairly quiet even being next to the interstate.

Decent basic motel. Clean. Fairly quiet despite its location on busy Barbur Boulevard and Interstate 5. Friendly desk help who replaced my lost key card at 10:00 pm. A classic old-school motel with nice upgrades. I’d say it exceeded expectations.

Needed a place to go in a bind. No credit card needed, very quaint. Friendly service. Would stay again. A bit older but new enough. Recommend staying here anytime. Close to 711 and other stores. Nice roses out front.

we paid for a room, were not allowed to inspect the room first, the place was filthy. They would not return our money, although we did NOT stay the night.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Capitol Hill Motel this past November, 2013. With everything just minutes away, why would we lodge anywhere else? Nice cozy rooms with fresh linens and all! I would return again for sure!

This is an extremely well managed hotel outside Portland. The room and grounds are immaculate, the staff very pleasant and the surroundings safe. There is mandatory daily room cleaning that keeps the environment from being shady. I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for the surprisingly pleasant stay.

Haven't done the motel thing in quite some time but went because of the reviews. Not everyone can do this kind of thing. Yes, a 2 star with friendly check in and the added bonus of a full fridge, stove and microwave. Included are a very stained blanket and highway noise. Brought my blanket from the car and wore earplugs. I stayed 2 nights and drove downtown one day and took the city bus on the second day. For $2.50 (one way; pay cash to the driver), Bus 12 every 15 minutes at a stop right out front is hard to beat. Found both methods to be quite convenient. Cheap stay meant more funds for the flavours of Portland.

We needed a spot to spend the night in this area and we decided to try the Capitol Hill Motel. We feel in love with it even before we checked in. Everything was neat and clean outside ...and when we opened the door to our room it was precious. Our room had a little entry area with 2 steps up to our room. Again, everything neat as a pin. The spacious bathroom was also very cute. In the morning we found out that this motel has been in the family for 44 years and that their son and his wife are becoming the managers for mom and dad. We’ve stayed in places that cost a lot more....and haven’t enjoyed them this much! The queen bed was very comfortable...and I slept great! The Capitol Hill is now our choice for Portland! We will return soon. For those of you doubting me, you’re just going to have to try it yourself. It’s a huge bargain! Thank you.

Your not allowed phone calls past 10 (or any visitors after 10 and prior to 10 they have to be registered). The toilet seat in our room is wood and the front where your "junk" is near is all peeled back and grosses me out, and when u lift lid the seat pulls up too so u have to manually separate them each time. The bed slants towards the headboard a bit (you can't tell when ur in it but u can visually see it), the pillows r rock hard, one is thick, the other is thin, but both hard. The towels r clean but have spots. Their is wireless but my phone keeps asking me to re-log in to it with every new thing I want to do, so it's very annoying! Found sum1 else's hair in the bed, hoping it just got stuck to blanket in wash and it's not a reused comforter. The guy at desk seemed nice but you have to ring the bell outside and wait to be buzzed in to even ask a simple question and maybe it was just me but I was having issues opening door once he buzzed me in. Once inside he's behind a glass window, very impersonal. $67 a night (2ppl) and there's cheaper right down street. An outlet next to bed doesn't work unless u hold ur plug in place but the other outlet in same outlet works fine (had to unplug lamP in order to have my phone next to bed). I def don't exPect a perfect room at a budget hotel, but when your boyfriend checks for bed bugs first thing, it's gotta be bad (and no he didn't see any signs, but still)

Cute little motel with friendly staff. Bed was super comfortable and we slept well. There was some traffic noise but it didn't bother us.
Bathroom was a little dated and could use renovation, but it was very clean and everything worked just fine.
For a cheap motel, this was a pleasant surprise.
