Guests rave about the convenient central location, though safety at night has been a concern for some. Service quality varies, with accolades for staff friendliness contrasting with reports of unprofessionalism.

We had a great little stay in downtown Portland, and true to the Centric brand, you really feel the city's vibe! The check-in process was super easy, and we were fortunate to stay in the largest suite on the property—it was a great size for a city hotel suite! The room had an industrial feel, with modern amenities like Chromecast and electric blinds.
The gym was decent for getting a workout in, with one Peloton bike and several other exercise machines. The bar downstairs makes a fantastic Espresso Martini, and the lady managing the bar genuinely looked after her guests. Hotel staff overall were great.
There was an issue with the valet service. I believe they may have damaged one of my car rims. While it's hard to prove, the rim was in perfect condition before, and we noticed the damage right after leaving. The valet staff seemed rushed and not engaging, and there was a 20% difference between the valet price quoted via Hyatt chat and what was actually charged. While I would rate the hotel itself five stars, I wouldn’t recommend using the valet service.
Overall, it was a great stay at the hotel, but I’d suggest self-parking to avoid potential issues.

I came here for a week to work remotely and explore the city. I had decided to use one of my SUA as a globalist to upgrade to the one bed king suite that they have here. Check-in was smooth, was greeted with the two water bottles and the breakfast vouchers for being a globalist ($25 daily at The Covet in the lobby). After check-in, went to the room, and it definitely is bigger than the standard rooms, but it lacks a desk (very important if you plan to try to do any work from here), and has very very bad and low lighting. Since the suite is so much bigger and there is no recessed lighting (probably due to concrete ceilings), the room relies on two little floor lamps to light it up, and the bedroom, a mirror light and two side lights on your bed. It just feels cold and sterile. But, the bathroom was fantastic, big shower, big vanity, lots of good lighting in there! And the shower was powerful and went from hot to scalding hot which in my book, is good, just took getting use to finessing the handle. Bed was super comfy, and regarding the desk issue, Dawn (who is fantastic by the way) was able to help me resolve that and have something sent up to my room that worked out great for my need to do some work!
Breakfast was pretty good! The lattes I had every morning were incredible, just a simple oat milk iced latte, but the coffee they use is *chef kiss*. As far as food for breakfast, the avocado toast is marvelous, I pretty much just ate this every day, and a couple of times had the huevos rancheros which were pretty good, except the first time the tostada was quite stale.
The gym was really nice, they actually had an impressive amount of free weights, more than most hotels do, even big hotels! It is a small gym, but the equipment is good and seeing the cute dog at the thrift shop across the street while you're on the elliptical is a bonus.
The location is central and very easy to get around using either the public transit, or rideshare. Not only is it central, but it is safe, I never felt in danger or see anything nefarious near the hotel, of course that changes the further you go away from it.
The value for the hotel is really where it is at, for everything I had received and the level of service from the staff, you can't go wrong here. I just wouldn't recommend the suite (I know!) just because of the bad lighting and dreariness, especially with the gloomy weather Portland has most of the year. I would probably just get a regular room or a corner room.

I love this hotel, it's kinda funky and cool. Very clean, nice touches in the room like night lights that come on when you step out of bed or into the bathroom, magnifying mirror, modern designs. Beds are comfy and great pillows too. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy valet. I love that the rooms come with a QR code to tip housekeeping because I never carry cash, same with valet! It's the little things that make my stay!

Fine building and location, horrible management. I would have given this a one star but we met two outstanding employees, Annie the bar manager (awesome!) and the housekeeping manager who finally, at 4 pm, after we had to resort to screaming, was the only employee who did something rather than give us lame excuses. From the moment we checked in (there was a lobby full of exhausted looking people waiting for rooms that were not ready), to the following day, when we returned after a full day of walking the city at 4 pm, and our room had not been cleaned, we could tell the person managing this hotel was not top of his/her class. We got nothing but canned excuses,: "I understand you are upset," and "we have a lot of check-ins and have to turn those rooms around before we clean yours, we are doing the best we can." Straight out of a bad management role playing exercise. The only reason we chose this hotel is my husband's Globalist status, which typically gets us an upgrade and sometimes even a thank-you for our loyalty. All we requested was a room at the stated check-in time the first day, and a room cleaned before 4 pm on the second day. We got neither. When we pointed this out to the unhelpful assistant manager, her response was, "everyone waiting in this lobby is a Globalist," in other words, "I don't care." Either she was lying, or Hyatt bestows their meaningless Globalist award on everyone, and their hotels just can't handle the volume. They can and should do better than this hotel.

We enjoyed the friendly staff, clean, comfortable rooms and excellent location to great restaurants and of course Powell’s bookstore. We stayed for a few nights and loved being able to walk everywhere. I always enjoy the fluffy robes and awesome Hyatt beds. My only recommendation is that they put glasses in the rooms or more paper cups. Also, creme for the coffee and herbal tea would add to our great experience.

Set up of the room is inconvenient in that the bathroom sink is in the room rather than in the bathroom.
Cashless hotel that uses Tipup where you can tip housekeeping, which was the first time I encountered that. Convenient in which you can tip when you don’t have cash, but there’s a service/convenience fee to use the app. I would have rather just been able to get change from the front desk to tip with cash.
Customer service was pretty shoddy. My check out experience was terrible - the wrong form of payment was used and the manager was supposed to follow up to rectify the issue. She didn’t, so I of course had to reach out, with no apologies at all. Just what you want to deal with on vacation. Most establishments acknowledge their shortcomings and try to do something about it but this one doesn’t. With so many better options in Portland, this hotel is definitely a pass.

Our family of four stayed a total of 4 nights and hotel staff was really helpful. Housekeeping came in regularly to freshen up our beds and replenish bathroom items. Valet parking is pretty costly, but the cheaper options around the hotel are a no-go (cars were broken into, smashed windows, etc at the nearby long-term lots we tried). If most of your activities are in the vicinity, ditch the rental car as most places can be reached by foot or by Portland's robust transit system. We returned our rental car after the first day and did this, the max red line even takes you right to PDX's doors. This hotel also offers luggage storage at no extra cost (just remember to tip), so if you have an early arrival or a late departure, you can leave your luggage and explore. All in all, I would definitely stay here again and would recommend. Oh, and maybe pack some light slippers as rooms have concrete floors and they can be cold.

I stayed for four nights. It is a high-quality hotel where you can stay safely and comfortably, with a convenient location, clean rooms, high-quality housekeeping, friendly staff, and a reliable security system and functions. In particular, housekeeping is performed every day, and the high quality and perfect service make it very satisfying. In addition, the breakfast plan I booked this time included breakfast served at the COVET restaurant on the first floor, which is made to order (not buffet style) every morning from 7:00. You can order one entree, juice and coffee from the extensive menu, and I ordered a different entree every day, and all of the food was of a high standard and very good.

Probably the worst place I've stayed, purely down to the half arsed cleanliness, and pointless customer service. Most places try to make sure guests are provided with the basics.
When I arrived at the room, there were many used/soiled paper towels under the sink unit in the room. I ignored it as I was too jet lagged. Room not cleaned the next day. When it was cleaned the day after that, there is still one of the original soiled paper towels under the sink. They also removed all hand soap from the room, and have not provided any toilet paper at all, not only this, but they left the floor off the room dirtier then before they attempted to clean it. I've complained three times. Nothing at all has been done. If I hadn't accepted a non-refundable rate, I'd have left.
To top this off, there is no sound proofing at all if you're on the lower levels. You'll be able to clearly here the conversions of anyone walking past outside the building, and any noise in the adjacent rooms may as well be in the same room.
There are no senior staff present in the building all day. Good luck trying to get through to anyone on the phone...

We stayed for 4 days in late July. The hotel was spotless and cool, which was important during the heat wave. We arrived very early and the check in desk staff offered to store our bags and text us immediately when our room was ready. Additionally, they made a list of a half dozen nearby restaurants we might enjoy.
We enjoyed the modern industrial design. We had everything we needed in the room and while we did not request housekeeping, we did call for towels and shampoo once and they were delivered in minutes.
We had a bed and breakfast rate and enjoyed breakfast all three mornings. I was really surprised that the restaurant wasn't more crowded. The vegetable frittata was excellent. The manager was there all three days and actually helped deliver all entrees and inquired about how we were finding things. Service was very attentive both in the morning and in the evening at the bar.
The location couldn't be beat. We were in an area that felt very safe. And we were short walking distance to Powell's Book Store, Voodoo Donuts, directly across the street from the tram and just a few minutes away from the tram that takes you to the airport for just $2.50. You can buy your tickets on the street at the kiosk. It's just a 45 minute tram ride versus $50 via Uber and just as fast. Full day transit passes are available for just $5 per day. We were surrounded by excellent restaurants and pubs that were within a couple of minutes walk or directly next door.
Check out went well and they once again offered to store our bags for us as we had a late flight and that enabled us to do some additional walking and get lunch in Portland before returning to claim our bags and walk a few blocks to the tram stop for the tram to the airport. We would definitely stay here again.

Hey! We have a Market that has grab and go options that are featuring local restaurants to help support the community, like Sugar Street and Multnomah Whiskey Library! They can be brought up to the hotel room if you so wish. Nothing is made here on property. We also have a dinning room that is currently open to the our hotel guests, and plenty of plates and silverware to use if you decided to grab Take-Out from one of the many great restaurants in the area.
