I chose to stay here because it's central in downtown. Although we drove, it's convenient to go East or North or South. There isn't much traffic in the city, so it's very easy to drive. As they only have valet parking, we chose to park...More
This is a wonderful hotel. The location is downtown and near everything you want to do. The staff was excellent. Very professional and attentive. The room we had was spacious with a balcony, jetted tub and huge walk-in shower. Even though the balcony rooms are...More

I chose to stay at the Paramount because it is centrally located downtown, and I feel safe with my family there. The staff takes care of us well, it is clean, cozy, and quiet. Our room balcony gave us a beautiful view of the city....More
hotel had a typical US old school hotel style. big furniture, feels heavy. rooms dark, little issues, window broken, toilet did not work, fridge didn't work properly either. I expected more than I have experienced.
Literally the worst mattress I’ve ever slept on in my life. They creaked every time you moved, were hard as rocks, sunken from being old (?), and when I asked for a mattress pad, the young girl at the front looked at me like I...More

Thank you for your question. The guest who posted the review about bugs stayed in room 1101 and the photos she sent us were of carpet beetles and have been treated. Hotels live in fear of bed bugs and because we do, we train our cleaning staff and managers to always be on the lookout for signs of them. I am able to personally inspect most rooms where we have received complaints and have not found a bed bug in a room in the last few years. When we get a complaint, we quarantine the room and start a very thorough process of searching. If nothing is found, all linens and pillows are put in the dryers as an extra precaution as the heat will kill anything and then we bring in a pest control company to re-inspect and then treat the room as an additional precaution. If something is found, we bring in a company which will essentially put all the room contents in a hot box and superheat it for a day.
If you have concerns, you should always address them with the hotel immediately. It is equally important to us as I’m sure it is to you that we are bug free. Please feel free to contact me directly if you have further concerns.
The MAX is the deal here. At $2.50 or $1.25 if you are 62+ you can't beat it. Take the RED LINE to downtown and get off at the Galleria/SW 10th ave stop. Walk one block east and two blocks south along Director's Park to the... More
The MAX is the deal here. At $2.50 or $1.25 if you are 62+ you can't beat it. Take the RED LINE to downtown and get off at the Galleria/SW 10th ave stop. Walk one block east and two blocks south along Director's Park to the hotel. It takes about 40 minutes but you get an interesting tour of Portland. Drop by The Swine on the way to the front desk and say "HI" to Joe the bartender. If Ed the "Host" is on duty say "HI" shake his hand and he might give you a bag of goodies. Nice folks.
