Folks, We've been staying at this particular HEI for over 10 years now and everything remains well managed from year to year. Yes, the elevator seems to be the slowest in the country, but once you get your luggage upstairs one seems motivated to get...More
Our room was comfortable and the beds were cozy. The room has a coffee maker and there is the usual breakfast downstairs. There is also a pool and hot tub, which were nice after driving all day.
Free parking and easy access off the highway....More
We stayed 2 night at this hotel. It's in perfect location close to everything - attractions, highways, great food on 23rd NW street. It provides free parking which could be costly in Portland. Otherwise - very overpriced hotel even for the area of Portland.More

It's in the Alphabet District, which is walking distance to downtown, about 15 minutes with children. I chose to stay here rather than in downtown because this hotel had free parking, was next to the freeway, was on the public transport lines (bus and streetcar) and was in an interesting part of town. In 4 days, we used the car only once. We walked downtown each day and all over the Alphabet District.
