I can see this being a negative experience for those that had no idea what they were in for.I knew exactly what to expect and I enjoyed my stay. I stayed with a college buddy and we each had our own room. My observations: -price was as advertised, no surprises -friendly staff -no frill rooms with clean community bathrooms. -my...

Although we have been to several McMenamins for meals or movies, this was our first time spending the night. It's a no worries area with several bars/Restaurants nearby. Check in is in the bar downstairs. Cool building and we loved the artwork. We didn't mind walking down the hall to use the bathroom. Sink is in the room. The band...

If you are looking for a thrill, this is the place to be. I heard a women crying at times. It seemed that everyone who stayed there was on edge. I know I was.... Im some of my random pictures I see ghosts maybe?! Or it might just be my imagination! Anyways, the bar and food was good and the...

Not for the weak of heart. I have enjoyed many McMenamin's properties; and the treatment by staff and general cleanliness and atmosphere of the property was on par with other locations. The drawbacks for this particular trip - - it seems first and foremost a bar/music venue. Fortunately for us, our late evening arrival put us there at the beginning...

Enjoyed a fun stay here at this supposedly haunted old hotel. Cute rooms. Bar will fill up your mason jar to take up to your room. Only downside would be shared bathroom down the hall, but there is a sink in each room too. Don't try to go to sleep before the bar downstairs closes for the night! Thin walls!

We stayed here overnight and loved both the price and uniqueness. We were in town for a dance competition and just needed a place to crash the night. It was refreshingly full of character and charm. We ate dinner at the bar downstairs which was delicious, and while we didn't stay for the band, we still were able to enjoy...

Our stay at White Eagle definitely wasn't perfect, but it cost $75 a night during a time when everywhere else we were looking was about $150. Awesome value. The location is also perfect, in a cool and up-and-coming area with lots of breweries etc. nearby (in fact one night we were out walking and everywhere we turned we could smell...

Our group of 6 traveled to Portland for a week in June with our bicycles and booked 3 wonderful rooms. Halls are decorated with 50 years of framed vintage band posters and hand painted poetry and lyrics. Sit around the outdoor wood fire enjoying one of their tastey craft brews and listen to different bands playing folk, blues, and rock...

I happened to land here on a night with no live music. Bar was dead. Hotel rooms are small and only 1 of the two shared bathrooms were able to close properly. After reading other reviews, I think I just landed here on the wrong night. Think I'll give it a try again later on.
