My visit to Portland was made so much better by my experience at Hotel Lucia. Valet parking was simple. Check-in was friendly and efficient. The hotel lobby and communal areas were nicely laid out and utilized including coffee and fruit bowl in the morning, beer and socializing in the evening. The hallways and room were clean and classy. My bed and linen were extremely comfortable and top quality. Really, I have no criticism. The hotel exceeded my expectations and was better than many 5-star places I've stayed in.

A very stylish hotel with wonderful people working there. Beautiful, comfortable, friendly - a perfect mix. I highly recommend this property for a Portland stay. It is conveniently located and overall was an excellent experience. I give it a 5/5.

At a lower price point, I would say this hotel is good. At its high price point, including the resort fee, it is only OK. The listed amenities and room features on TripAdvisor are not accurate. The real experience is that you get a nice room, Wi-Fi, a good location, friendly front desk staff, no housekeeping, and no food onsite/next-door. I recommend parking across the street in 24/7 paid parking. It’s less expensive than valet, and I am unsure how valet parking would have worked at night when there is no staff outside, no door person. Perhaps valet is done by text…that is the way that guests communicate with the staff. Guests use their key cards to get into the hotel in the evenings. I like boutique hotels and have traveled since 2020, so I have points of comparison for my review. Pros: *air conditioning *responsive staff - fixed reported problems via text *location - easy to reach fun activities by walking *connectivity - strong WiFi, usb power outlets *small fridge / one free cold drink each night Cons *room not inspected before checkin - trash not empty, toiletries/tissues almost empty, shower not working as expected (H/C reversed) *no housekeeping - Does not feel like vacation when the guest has to ask for each item as it runs out, like body wash or tissues. * No nearby cafés or restaurants that are open, especially at night. * Amenities and room features listed on TripAdvisor are not accurate. They make this hotel sound more upscale than it is. For example there is no room service, restaurant, bathrobes, door person, breakfast, or housekeeping.

Hi Sabra, Thanks for taking the time to review us again. We are already at work on fixing the mistakes from your stay that were reported on your last comment and do want to apologize for dropping the ball. There is no excuse for our housekeeping team not thoroughly inspecting your room and we will learn from it. On your last comment, you asked us not to respond but I do want to let you know that our goal is for our guests never to leave dissatisfied with their experience. Should you wish to chat, I would be happy to make these mistakes right for you. Our prices were higher for the weekend you stayed because our occupancy was up. We are lucky to get guests willing to try us out and are always willing to take ownership of our mistakes. Your experience was not our norm and I do wish that we'd get the opportunity to chat so that you could see that we are serious about our guests enjoyment during their stay.

Great funky atmosphere! We loved the retro look. The staff were very friendly and made sure to let us know if we needed anything just ask. The room was as I hoped. Clean and had a view of downtown. A great benefit was the parking. It is located across the street. Covered and secure. We want to book again in November for another concert. Thanks for making our weekend special.

Stayed for two nights and appreciated every bit of the hotel. Enjoyed a craft beer every night and a really good coffee in the morning (oat milk! Thank you!) We grabbed the bikes and took them down the river, and we were within walking distance of pioneer square and lots of great spots to eat and drink. We sat in a few of the different lounge areas, and enjoyed the art. I used the well equipped gym every morning and had fun trying out the peloton. Parking garage is super easy, right across the street for those who don’t want to use valet. The room is well appointed with cute little touches like an old fashioned radio. The staff was all lovely and friendly and made it seem like we were staying with non intrusive relatives. We can’t wait to return.

hi Leah, You're fantastic on all accounts! Thanks for calling out the oat milk! I'm not a coffee drinker but so many of our guests are happy that we've added that to our daily coffee service. Please do come back. We'd love to host you again.

I travel a ton and this was by far one of my most memorable and favorite experiences! The staff was super friendly and inviting. I feel like the hotel was very personalized and unique from the free craft beer at check in to the cute museum throughout their lobby. They have delicious tea and coffee options in the morning and a Peloton in their gym (with other great workout options too). The rooms are super cute and stylish and beds are comfortable. Great location too. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

We had our first weekend away from our infant son for a friend's wedding in Portland. We needed an easy downtown spot and Hotel Lucia came across our path. We are so glad it did! The lobby is fun and inviting. They offer board games, beverages after 6 PM and coffee in the morning. The rooms are cozy, clean, and comfortable. Best part? The staff is INCREDIBLE! Beyond nice and always making sure you have EVERYTHING you need. Fun fact: if you ever need to mail breast milk home to your baby, they will find a way. Manager Matthew was more than accommodating and reassuring that he could help me and we are ever grateful to him because he did. Instead of staying at a brand-name or big hotel, choose this cute, boutique spot with the best people in it. It's an easy walk to breweries, the River, and plenty of shopping and eateries. If we return to Portland, we will definitely stay here. Thank you, Hotel Lucia!

We stayed at Hotel Lucia during a heat wave in Portland. It was so nice to come back to our cold room and escape the heat! They also offer a free cold beer in the lobby every evening. The staff here was always very kind and attentive. Our room was clean, spacious and quiet . They were not offering daily house keeping when we were there, but not a huge deal for us.

A pretty decent place to stay in Portland. Central location with friendly staff. But $25 per night extra charge was a surprise, especially when told there was no room service to change towels even though we were staying 3 nights (allegedly room service is done every 4th night!!??) and then after leaving we were charged $7 per water bottle in the room even though they were presented as complimentary! Nice place to stay but the extra stingers felt like daylight robbery.

Hi Jersak! I'm incredibly sorry. All of our waters should have price tags clearly placed on them. We don't ever want anyone to be surprised by our fees. We try to ensure they're listed clearly on every reservation and only utilize them to enhance our guest experience. If you have a moment please feel free to reach out and ask to speak to me. It's clear that we made a mistake and I'd like to make it up to you. Thanks for your time.
