i like this place a lot, nice rooms and what not, idk why other people think the area isnt safe? not any place in the world is safe except the places where theree is security. i have been doing up down for work and this place satisfies me. there arre some good restaurant next door and some down the street. one night i heard something happening outside couple rooms down and called the front desk and they took care of it at midnight.

Staying at this motel was a nightmare. First off, the motel is located on a very busy street that seemed to have a lot more leg traffic after dark. After checking in with the person behind the desk they seemed rude and like they didn't want to be there. The room was very small and smelly... kind of like BO and smoke. The bed sheets had spots that where discolored and rough on them. After hearing the third siren go by, I decided that this was not a place for me.

The hotel's not bad for the price, the main problem is that it's kind of in a sketchy part of Portland's east side, in fact it's so far east that it's practically in Clackamas/Happy Valley. It's about an hour busride away from any of the parts of Portland that are worth going to. The area isn't necessarily unsafe, but my girlfriend and I heard or saw at least 4 police cars during the week we stayed here

Don't expect: wi-fi that works, maid service, alarm clock or breakfast (but there is a cheap Mexican restaurant next door that's actually pretty good, and a 7-11 across the street).

Expect: ants. It wasn't a huge infestation or anything and they were pretty tiny, but if you're anything like my girlfriend you may not like them.

Well for starters I like this place you know it’s the the best location but if you wanna hang out with your friends and just chill at a place this is the place. You know it’s the the nicest but it’s cheap and their friendly at-least unlike a lot of motels aren’t nice but I like this place the water gets hella hot which is nice. One room doesn’t lock tho but not to worried overall 5 star.

After the remodel this motel is much better then staying at a flagged hotel. The owners are amazing and they go the extra mile for everyone that stays. Top quality beds and top quality showers. Super easy access to the largest mall in Oregon making it a solid place to stay. Thank you

If I could rate this place 0 stars, I would. If I could legally burn it to the ground, I would prefer to do that. First off they charged my credit card before checking in, even though the site said they wouldn't. Upon getting there, we realized it is in a very sketchy neighborhood immediately next door to an establishment named "Area 69". There was a strange man wandering the lot seemingly lost/high/drunk.

We knew instantly that we weren't going to want to stay there if we didn't want to risk potentially being murdered and I went to the desk to cancel our reservation. They told me it was impossible to cancel, even though they were not supposed to have charged my card yet, and that I couldn't even cancel by paying the fee they have listed on their site. The best that they offered was cancelling our second night with a cancellation fee and charging us for the full first night. At this point I was tired of arguing with people who treated me like a criminal and who were near impossible to understand due to their accent/limited knowledge of the English language. I figured what the heck, let's brave danger for one night, maybe it's not so bad.

After entering the room, I was reminded of a scene from CSI or Law & Order: SVU. The walls were dirty and in some areas looked like they had dried blood on them. Our fridge in unit was non-working and smelled like it had once housed various body parts and/or fluids. The sheets were stained and covered in cigarette burns/holes. The bathroom was terrifying. Every single white towel looked as though they had been used for 12 years in a YMCA gym; they were stained brown and falling apart. There has to be at least 5 building code violations in the space they put around the toilet, not that you'd even want to try to use it. Between the cracked bowl and the (I swear to God it had to be) half-ply single roll of toilet paper they give you, taking a poop would be a highly risky prospect. Did I mention that the shower curtains had black mold and what appeared to be more blood stains on them? After booting up our laptops to escape our present reality for the night, we found out that they do NOT, I repeat DO NOT have WIFI. After conversing with the front desk again, I was given some excuse about how it had just went out "that morning". I can say with 173.56% certainty that it will always have gone out "that morning" if you decide to tempt fate by staying here for the night. After going to get dinner, we returned to find two cop cars parked in the parking lot and they were arresting one of the guys staying in a room there. It wasn't much of a surprise.

BOTTOM LINE: Do not stay here. For your health and sanity, spend $15 bucks extra or just sleep in your car in the parking lot of a grocery store. It would seriously be much more sanitary, comfortable, and probably safer. Only stay here if you want to get hepatitis or are looking to buy drugs and/or hire a prostitute. Or if you have a death wish.

I recently just met the owner of Del Rancho Motel. He is a nice guy with a great, newly renovated room. I was only going to stay a night or two, but has ended up bieng an extended stay. The room is wonderful, the cable is Direct TV, the shower pressure is awesome, the queen bed is like sleeping on a cloud, and most importantly it is safe and quiet. I recommend this place for either one person or a family. One just has to check out the rooms for yourself. You will be surprised!
