Detailed Reviews
Stayed three nights here during COVID in a two bedroom corner suite with small children. The extra space really helped us to continue to enjoy the evening while the kids sleep. The place is clean with dishes disinfected. Not even one time we saw any staff without masks. Visitors at the building were respectful and voluntarily not to share elevators. On the weekend they serve touchless hot breakfast (includes scramble eggs, baked potatoes and sausages) that you can bring back to your room and on the weekday they have grab and go breakfast. There's disinfectant in high traffic places and social distancing was practised during out stay there. When we asked for extra towels and untensils, the staff also handed them over in a touchless manner. I am really happy I chose this place for my family to have a small getaway during the pandemic and felt safe.

If you want an immersive Portland experience, this is a great home base. The hotel is centrally located in the industrial/residential Pearl District. The property is sleek and modern, with ample outdoor space. Grocery, restaurants, parks all in walking distance. Onsite valet parking is pricey, but the parking garage across the street is affordable, at $12/day. One block in either direction takes you to streetcar stations, either up to the NW 23rd shopping district or straight into downtown. We attended concert at The Coliseum/Moda center complex and actually walked over the bridge to venue (15 minutes). The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel lobby restaurant provides a free breakfast and a happy hour menu with yummy small plates (plus a full dinner menu). We LOVED it here and will be back for sure!

I ended up switching to this hotel from a location in downtown Portland. The staff here is extremely friendly and accommodating. Offsite parking is only $12 a day in a ramp with a security guard for your safety. There is also plenty of on street parking which is free from 7 PM to 8 AM. The rooms are spacious and clean and the location is walking distance to many restaurants in the District. I will stay here every time I come to Portland going forward.

Staff friendly and helpful. Room clean & proper Covid cleaning took place in public areas several times daily( spraying with disinfectant machine and wiping down). Masks required. A restaurant on the premises open evenings only. Free grab and go breakfast. Now the downside. This place just gives off a cold vibe. It is stuck in a part of town where lots of homeless are camped in tents. They are within 1/2 block of the hotel and roaming the area. So sorry to see so much of this in Portland. Also the hotel has no parking. You must park on the street and feed a meter until 7PM then street becomes free. Other options are a city lot one block away or pay $47 per day valet fee. That’s a bit steep I think. I chose the street since we were out & about the city most of the day. I had no problems.
Also the huge courtyard at the hotel needs better upkeep on plantings and landscape, and seating. Some grass to walk dogs, which the hotel allows would be nice. I did not see any restaurants or businesses on the block of the hotel. If I had to choose again, I would choose the downtown Residence Inn a few blocks away. My rating for this RI is strictly on the building and location and parking. Staff were great.

The front desk staff is not friendly- AT ALL- and are borderline rude. Not helpful in the slightest.
The room was not thoroughly cleaned as witnessed by an empty box of crackers in the cupboard, a sofa sleeper full of food debris, trash on the floor in one of the bathrooms.
For the price of the hotel, I expected everything to be in good condition however the bathtub & bathroom floor are chipped, the hot water in the bathroom sink is less than lukewarm even after 3 minutes.
The breakfast is beyond insufficient. The only protein available in the cold breakfast is Greek yogurt (not everyone likes Greek yogurt either).
In other lodgings in OREGON/WASHINGTON, they do a “CoVid Safe” breakfast with more options, including a microwave safe sandwich, boxed cereal, and more options for families with children.
There was basically zero kid friendly foods, except a piece of fruit.
The price of the overnight parking is way overpriced. $39/night for self, unattended parking for less than 24/hours.
I would not stay at this location again.

Splendid stay and service. Hotel location was wonderful and in close proximity to many restaurants. The breakfast was very good with excellent scrambled eggs. Some hotels seem to use egg power that is crumbly. This hotel seems to use real eggs that were perfectly cooked. Great orange juice, coffee, and a variety of items I've oatmeal, fruit, etc.
The front desk was very helpful and made you feel at home. There is also food menu and a bar in the lobby area during the evening.
There is also an outdoor courtyard that we enjoyed on multiple days.

We were a little concerned this place would be too far from the action in Portland but that wasn't the case. The downtown area was easily reached on the streetcar, lime or just walking.
The best part is that there is plenty of parking on the street or the nearby garage is just $5 a day on the weekend.
Staff here are super friendly and welcoming. They also managed to upgrade us to a larger corner room as a Gold Elite member. It was huge and had all the facilities you could need.
The free breakfast was as expected for a place like this - sufficient but without being anything too extravagant. They have lots of facilities for dogs also, be aware that the extra fee of $100 USD per stay is a little more expensive than normal. But we got a low cost for the room to start, so it wasn't a big deal.
Overall we'd definitely stay here again and it would be a perfect place for long time stay. Recommended!

Really enjoyed our stay at the Ret sidence Inn Portland Pearl District. We were upgrade to a very spacious 2 bedroom unit. Great views, very clean. Lobby/Bar area very large and. opened. Had dinner at the hotel which is opened from 5-10, our food was delicious as was the breakfast in the morning. Breakfast complimentary. tVery impressed that they served breakfast on china plates, silverware. Much classier than paper plates and plastic silverware. Stephanie at the front desk was great and very helpful. Hotel is in a great location & although they have valet parking we did street parking right infant of the hotel, free from 7pm/8am. 2 hour parking prior was 4.80. Very happy with our choice and the location was great.

Very clean rooms, location is good in Pearl District with easy parking at Station Garage (significantly cheaper than valet). Walked to dinner in Pearl district and had no safety concerns. Did not see any tents near the hotel. Breakfast staff was quick to clean empty tables and pick up dishes. Room had very comfortable beds and was quiet. There is a train track behind the hotel but we only heard trains during the day.

With the wildfires raging we needed to get away. The room we chose had a living/kitchenette and a separate bedroom with a king size bed. The hotel’s approach to dealing with the pandemic is very reassuring and we felt the staff were very well trained. We either got take out food or did some minimal cooking in the room so our interaction with others was limited, as we wished. The one thing that was a bit misleading was the statement of free breakfast as what was available did not even have the appearance of a breakfast.

Ya I guess they do. I had my own so I didn't really notice, but now that you mention it, pump bottles were attached to the wall and there weren't a lot of little disposable bottles everywhere, just new bars of soap.
Studios are spacious but I don't know about bedroom size as the one bedroom is a bit narrow. I'm sure you can put crib in living room.
Yes, there is loading/unloading/ valet right in front of the hotel (often street parking is available in front or behind that zone as well,I got lucky twice). The public parking garage is very easy to get to as well. If you pull over to unload/check in, you can just get back in your car and take the first right, then right again for the union station garage ($12 overnight) and cut diagonally through the very nice courtyard on foot to get back into the hotel.
Valet parking is now $44, which might be ok if you're staying a whole week, but is a lot for one night (same price)!
Yes, its about 15 min. across a bridge.
