My family traveled from out-of-state and stayed at the Double Tree in Portland for 3 nights. We chose this hotel based on reviews and the fact it had a pool. It was going to be 74 degrees ever day we were there and my children were very excited especially since we were coming from 15 degree weather. Our flight was delayed so we arrived very late the first night. I called the hotel before arriving and let them know we were going to have a late check-in and requested a couple items. The Good: Staff was friendly The Bad: - The pool was closed for the season. No one informed me of this even after multiple phone calls to the hotel. Needless to say bit the kids were extremely disappointed. - At approximately 5am, the bathroom flooded with soapy water and bubbles. It came out of the toilet and bathtub, covered the entire floor and flooded out of the bathroom. I called the front desk who presented several options while speaking so fast it was hard to understand. All the options she presented needed to happen (maintenance come fix the issue and move rooms were the top two). It was offered that the family could come down to the lobby and use the bathroom while the issue was being fixed BUT the maintenance personal would be there for hours. Not a valid option at all. I had to ask to change rooms several times. Not having reasonable access to a bathroom was a big problem especially with kids. We had to go down to the lobby and get the new keys. - We requested compensation for the major inconvenience and moving rooms after being at the hotel for less than 6 hours. We were offered free breakfast for the three days we were there. Being that breakfast closed before we were even wake after a night like we had, of course we couldn't use it the first day. The second day the girlfriend and I use the voucher. We couldn't use it the last day either since we had an early flight thus an early check out time. Out of a possible 12 meals valued at $21 each for the buffet, we used 2 meals. We couldn't use 8 of them. All this was explained to them from the beginning but it didn't matter. When I brought this up at check out I was offered $50 off the total bill. Not even close to the same value. I saw the final bill but then noticed more charges after that on my account. Not good at all. - No refrigerator or microwave in the rooms. We were told after our arrival that they had to be requested separately. This is very odd. - Paying $27 per night for parking but the hotel stating they're not responsible for anything that happens to your vehicle. Then what am I paying for? Basic security should be provided for that cost. - I requested extra pillows and blankets for my kids but never received them. I requested this before arrival and after our arrival. We were so frustrated and exhausted at this point we didn't want to try anymore. - This is not in the hotels control but another reason we choose this location was its proximity to the mall. Kids like to shop. Well, it was the worst mall we have ever been to. It's mostly empty and the options that were there we not good. Overall, not a good experience. We decided we will be choosing a different hotel next time we travel to Portland. It was nice they attempted to compensate but their attempt was poor.

Hello. Thank you for sharing such a detailed review of your recent stay. We're genuinely sorry to hear about the numerous issues you encountered during your visit. Your feedback is invaluable, as it helps us identify areas that need improvement. It's disheartening to hear about your disappointment with the pool closure and lack of information provided beforehand. Regarding the bathroom flooding, we apologize for the inconvenience and understand how disruptive this could be, especially with young children. It seems like our response was not as prompt and efficient as it should have been. Your additional concerns about the lack of room amenities like a fridge or microwave, parking fees, and failure to provide requested pillows and blankets are all being taken seriously. Rest assured, these issues will be addressed internally. Thank you for being a valued guest, and we hope you'll reconsider staying with us in the future to experience the improvements we're committed to making.

Hotel's Favourite
We were a little concerned about spending three nights here after a terrible experience at the Doubletree in Bend, but fortunately this property was vastly better. Got a quiet and clean room up on the 14th floor with a good view of the city and a small balcony that allowed us to air out the room every day. Beds were comfortable, desk provided ample space to work and liked having a small area outside the bathroom with mirror and shelf for storage. Nice strong wifi signal was much appreciated. The one thing we missed having was a refrigerator, as we were carrying wine and cheese with us and had to be creative with the ice bucket to keep it cold. Never had breakfast at the property so not sure how it was, but the bartenders in the evening at the restaurant were very friendly with recommendations for beverages. Front desk staff was friendly the few times I was in need of something. Too cold to use the outdoor pool, but the fitness center was spacious and served our needs well. Location was close to public transportation and walkable to several decent restaurants along with a shopping mall with an ice skating rink. Main reason I didn't give it a 5 star review is the lack of refrigerator in the room and the fact that Hilton still isn't doing housekeeping. All of the smaller properties we stayed at during our 3 weeks in Oregon had brought it back, and while I don't need it every day once during a stay would be nice. Overall a good hotel, and we would consider it again if we find ourselves in Portland.

First trip to Portland so did not know what to expect. The hotel is in a convenient area but it is not the nicest. Front door closes at about 9pm and it had a guard behind the front desk. Hotel is trying but room size is dated. Main area of hotel is dated and restaurant was very disappointing. Not many eateries around and Portland seems depressing around the hotel.

I noticed some prior negative reviews for this location but that wasn’t my experience. I had a nice big room on 7 th floor. Clean and comfortable. Fast elevator. A great breakfast buffet. A nice park across street but there were some I assume homeless men behaving erratically so I stayed away.

Worst place to stay EVER, do not waste your money! They are gross and very unethical!!! They stole my money and our whole soccer team stays there. Our games got cancelled due to smoke from fires and the players couldn’t play. They would not refund us although they sent the entire team the link to stay there. Sara Hohler in the accounting dept was so rude and doesn’t give a crap that it was an emergency cancel. The manger Robert is even worse, I called him and so did the head of the Timbers and he never called me back after calling over 10 times. I also emailed him several times and no response; he can care less. They stole my $205 for never staying there and won’t refund it although 3 of their employees said I would be refunded in 7-10 days then when I checked, I got ridiculed. It’s not about the money. It’s the principal and I thought that was what Hilton stands for, I guess not!! This place is horrible as we stay all over for traveling soccer and no other hotel has ever done this to our family.

Hotel was unable to help us with our reservation that was booked thru Hotwire . Booked a king room and was charged for one but according to reception they only received a booking for a double room . Unfortunately it left a bad feeling of getting ripped off by Hotwire and the hotel . Just ruined our stay

I traveled to PDX for work and chose to stay at the DoubleTree Hilton in downtown Portland. The hotel's appearance was impressive and easy to spot. Despite driving with my family, I appreciated the proximity to public transportation, especially the train to PDX. The Hiltons app allowed for convenient online check-in with a digital key, even for parking. My room on the 11th floor had a requested balcony, providing an incredible view of downtown Portland. The balcony was small, suitable only for standing. The spacious room featured two queen beds, a microwave, and a mini fridge. Initially, the TV remote had a low battery, quickly replaced by a call to the front desk. The main restaurant in the lobby was under renovation, but an alternative was available. Food was a bit pricey, leading us to explore other dining options nearby. Unfortunately, the hotel bathroom seemed aged compared to other DoubleTree Hiltons I've stayed at. The toilet had a persistent dark ring, and the bathtub was clogged. The bathroom door also displayed unclean streaks. A drawer of snacks posed confusion, but the front desk clarified they weren't included with the room. I worried this might indicate overall cleaning oversights. Despite a "do not disturb" sign, housekeeping knocked early one morning, raising questions about privacy. I inquired about late checkout, learning I had to wait until the day of departure for a decision. An early morning message granted a 2 PM checkout and requested pictures of room issues for their cleaning crew. The hotel's location was convenient, both for my work travel and dining options outside. However, I'm uncertain about rebooking due to cleanliness concerns.

For the price of this hotel, the accomodations are TERRIBLE. Here right now for a soccer tournament. I would never book to stay here again. You have to pay an extra $27 to park. There are NO microwaves or mini fridges in the rooms. Not even a common access microwave on the floor. Ice machine on our floor is broken. Tried to turn on the TV and it said no/weak signal. Called for help and they said they would send someone up. 20 minutes later, still no one so called again. Was put on hold. My husband looked behind the TV and it wasn't even connected. Stay somewhere else if you can.

Terrible experience. We spent a week here and were told they would only clean our room twice..They skipped the second cleaning despite being asked 4 times! We heard nothing but excuses as to why everything was subpar. Restaura food is completely subpar. Front desk staff is rude and unaccommodating. Managers are useless . Will NEVER stay at another Doubletree again nor Hilton. Besides all of this the hotel is outdated. At nearly $200/night this is unacceptable.
