We spent four nights at The Heathman last month. It is a classic old grand hotel in the business district. Our room was comfortable with an excellent mattress. The bathroom was small, but the shower had great water pressure. The staff at The Heathman is professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. This is my favorite hotel in Portland.

Stayed at the Heathman during a conference in Portland so was at it for 4 nights. The hotel room was quiet, if a bit stuffy. However the restaurant at the hotel was quite nice. Comfortable bed and clean room. The location was not so greatly convenient as it did take some time to get from here on public transit to...

Dear J_TravelB, Thank you for your stay and review. Most reviewers love our location however we are across the river from the conference center. Public transit is only two blocks away but I understand that in a strange city it may be a bit harder to find then it would be for us; next time let us help get you...

Stayed here 9/18-9/20 for a weekend in Portland with my husband and father. The hotel was in a decent location for walking distance around the business district and to pink bus tour starting point. The problem was it was a bit too far for my father to walk to local tourist spots and the river front. Taxis are readily available...

We stayed here for two nights. Everyone was very gracious and helpful. The bed was comfortable, the room was big enough that we did not feel crowded. The only complaint about the room, which did not detract from the hotel to us, was the air conditioning. Now, I do not know what the normal temperature for Portland is, but it...

We enjoyed our stay at the historic Heathman Hotel in Downtown Portland for 7 nights. The rooms were nicely appointed however we were surprised by the size of the bathrooms. Ours had a separate vanity/sink area, and closet, with a toilet and bath/shower inside. Our son was given a room a few doors down from us which was a tiny...

Great room with good restaurant -service and food. We enjoyed the low key bar and bar food. We especially enjoyed the jazz in the lounge, intimate and personal. Hotel perfectly located for exploring central Portland with helpful and knowledgeable staff.

My daughter and I were on a get away trip in Oregon, I wanted to end the trip with a blowout experience and found the Heathman. IT WAS LOVELY! From the moment that we entered ~ service was impeccable. We found out that the movie 50 Shades of Gray was filmed there ~ no big deal~ but there were stories...

Really nice hotel in a central location for shopping. Our room was large and our bed was so comfortable I really didn't want to get out of it! When your in the hotel it's obvious that it's been around for many years as it has a charm that can only come with age. Check in and out was quick and...

I definitely recommend the Heathman for its location and comfort. The rooms are well equipped and very nicely finished. The bed is super comfortable! My only suggestion is to self park a block away for $11/day instead of paying $40/day at the hotel and often waiting quite long for your car to be brought around.

Overall, I'd recommend this hotel to someone looking for a professional, independent hotel. Its not as cosy and welcoming as some small, boutique hotels we have stayed in, but here they strike a balance between appealing to business and leisure guests. Pros: We received a free upgrade from a King deluxe to a Symphony suite. Each room has a cafetiere...
