Three friends and I found this hotel through a TravelZoo deal, and I am so glad we did. Every single hotel staff member we encountered was friendly, knowledgable and happy to help. Josh always seemed to be on call for anything we needed. The location is perfect, right in the part of town we loved most and easy to walk...

I'm sure you had quite a long cross-country trip from Florida! So glad you found your guestrooms comfortable. You can't beat Kenny & Zuke's for a deli experience. They make the best pastrami sandwich in town! You also said you found Cafe Theobroma. I hope you tried one of their delicious breakfast crepes. Their lunch salads are also quite good!...

I lucked into one of the recently renovated rooms. It had a queen sized bed, a seating area, a desk, and a completely outfitted kitchen. I mean a kitchen with everything: stove, microwave, coffee maker, plates, glasses, cups, pots and pans, a cutting board, kitchen utensils, you name it. You would never guess that the hotel is under renovation. Somehow...

My company was having their Christmas partyand we stayed at the Mark Spencer in December 2013. We were upgraded to a suite and given an early check in. It was wonderful, clean and so spacious, we had a mini kitchenette and a full walk in closet. The bed was awesome, so comfortable with lots of pillows. Free tea and cookies...

Thank you for spending part of your holidays with us. Portland is so festive in December - I'm sure you found many places to visit and events to see. Every holiday season we turn one of our guestroom suites into a complimentary gift wrapping room for our guests. I hope during your stay you were able to stop by for...

Incredible value, especially with the travelzoo promotion we used (probably only available during low season), but a value at any price nonetheless with the inclusion of free wifi, decent small breakfast, great coffee/tea all day (loved that coffee machine, where can I get one?), mid-afternoon cookies, and a wine hour with cheese/crackers -- and good Oregon wines at that! Service...

We love it when our guests get excited about Portland! Believe it or not, some people come to Portland just to see Powell's Bookstore. It is one of the largest in the world! Along with our wonderful museums, festivals, award winning dining and tax-free shopping, who wouldn't love Portland? Thank you for your kind words - It will be my...

Our experience at the Mark Spencer was close to perfect. I like particularly hard beds and they found another acceptable room for us. The rooms were quiet, clean, airy, and comfortable. The location was perfect. The breakfasts, which were included, were plentiful. Best of all, the service the staff provided was outstanding.

For travelers like us this place has it all. Brilliant location; upbeat helpful staff; remarkable amenities; and a price one can't beat. Actually it was a deal for the M. I'm so glad you found your way back to Portland! I would have liked to welcome you back in person. When traveling, most guests appreciate the comfort of the bedding. We receive many comments on the luxurious sheets and pillow-top mattresses. It's something nice to look forward to after a long day of sight seeing! I'm happy you were able...

While we enjoyed the somewhat quirky, historic ambience, we were disappointed. We had an Executive King room for one night. When we checked in we were told we had to pay $18 for valet parking, but there was no valet service available. We still had to still pay the $18, park and unload the car ourselves. No discount was offered...

I would like to offer my apologies for any miscommunication you experienced while a guest in our hotel. While we do offer extrememly reasonable parking fees for downtown Portland, it is self-park with no valet. This does offer you the freedom to come and go as you please, but if this was not told to you at check-in, I apologize...
