Very dark rooms as others have said, very unfriendly management. Don't be disappointed, Black Butte Ranch, Metolious River Resort, Metolius River Lodge and Cold Springs Resort are far better and enjoyable options to stay in this area of central Oregon

We stopped by the Suttle Lodge on our way home from Bend for a quick bite, and to check out the changes to the recently reopened property. The formerly shabby cluster of buildings has received welcome upgrades without being completely, tear-it-down redone. We did not get lodging at the property, we only had lunch there. The separate and smaller Boathouse...

Suttle Lodge is for city folks who like the *idea* of camping and wilderness but don't want to get muddy or miss out on swish food or drinks while doing it. The Lodge doesn't take itself too seriously and you shouldn't either. Our wee forest cabin was barebones - a bed, military blankets, a gas stove and naked bulbs. When...

We showed up one Tuesday afternoon just looking for a place to sit and relax since we couldn't go skiing. We sat by the fire and drank tea and were made to feel so welcome as we enjoyed listening to old records on the player while gazing at the beautiful view of the lake. Perfect way to spend an afternoon...

After seeing pictures of the "old lodge" which showed a warm and d inviting lodge and then reading the new lodge website (which should have been a red flag as there weren't any pictures) I made a reservation for me and my wife to have a romantic weekend at the lodge. When we arrived the exterior of the lodge was...

Things change, I get that. New owners. New restaurant (I have yet to see). But I get the distinct feeling that the new owners have styled the main lodge to attract northern Californians as the interior is now pseudo chic--as opposed to the previous owner's classic northwestern "lodgy look" and what visitors to the area are 'looking for.' Hey, I...

Came to Suttle lodge for NYE and had the best time! Loved the Wes Anderson style the lodge and cabins exude. Rustic and simplistic. Everything from the staff to the cocktails were amazing. Nothing better than spending an afternoon curled up on one of their cozy couches, sipping a hot toddy as a record plays and watching the snow fall...

If you are looking for a place to cozy up with the people you love, meet new friends, and slow down then book a stay at the Suttle Lodge. Young and old alike are treated like members of the family. Hang out at the lodge by the fireplace, take a walk around the lake, get back to the basics. No...

I had a lot of fun staying with my wife and two boys in one of the small very rustic cabins. The bedroom stayed warm but the living room was cold. The new lodge remodel is amazing and we ended up spending quite a bit of time near the giant fireplace. There is a very cool trail around the lake...

We loved our stay at the Lodge! I agree with the previous reviews that the rooms are way too dark. Although we were not happy about the lightening as it hindered what we could do in our room at night. I was a little irritated that I paid $225 a night for our room but yet struggled going through my...
