We drove up from Hood River to Timberline and enjoyed walking around the old lodge, part of which was used in the filming of The Shining. Had an order of the Pork Posole, very tasty, some chips & dip and some Oregon hazelnuts roasted with...More

Took a late afternoon drive from Damascus up to the lodge just before sunset. Still plenty of snow. Tall pines line the drive up to the lodge once in the parking lot the view is amazing. Still plenty of activity in May.

Oregon isn't dressy. Smart casual is the norm, with the emphasis on casual! Be comfortable. Personally I don't feel comfortable in jeans in a dining room in the evening.

Best rooms are the fireplace rooms, but there are only 8. higher floors have best views, either of the Mt. or the valley. Several end rooms are extra large. Bring a swim suit and sun screen.
